No way. Totally 80's. At least that is when I was stinkin' it up.
I hated/hate most 80s music! And the only thing that saved it for me was the emergence of metal... pretty pathetic.

I never cared for white pickup covers at all. And they look even worse as they age and get dirty. Unless I'm in a spoof metal band, I don't see me with an angular, pointy headstock either. I don't mind the top one at all!
Well I for one am excited about some colors.... maybe we can finally avoid every other bass being 3 tone burst.

Children of the 80's are now in their 40's and 50's. They are most likely well established in life, and they have expendable money to buy things. I should know...I'm one of those 80's kids! These companies are releasing instruments that will appeal to us because they remind us of our younger days.
And for the record, I love the Fender and Charvel! I think their evil plan is working!
80s, actually. When I was in college in the mid- to late-80s, Drakkar was big with the guys in my fraternity.
This is the truest statement on this entire thread. Brown 3 tone burst, or "turd-burst" as I call it is the most overdone and tiresome paint scheme ever thought of. Others may feel differently but I just can't imagine the lack of individuality in owning one of those. Colors! We need more colors in the world!

I love the 80's but not the instruments so much. Lot's of generic looking 4 strings with garish colors and sharp angles. Not really my thing. Although I have come around on headless basses which used to horrify me when I thought I was cool.
