Here comes the 80's...

The 80s has been back music-wise for most of the last decade. Bandcamp is full of post-punk/goth/new wave bands that sprung up in recent years.

As for 80s basses, I got mine in the actual 80s, Westone Spectrum GT made by Matsukoku. Still my best-built, most comfortable bass.

The 80's never left! Everywhere you go--a grocery store or on TV-- there's an old 80's song in a movie or commercial or playing in Muzak overhead in the grocery store. For good reason. It was a great time to be a bass player. Every town even little ones had at least one and sometimes two or three clubs with live bands. But the internet and rap/hip-hop/drone dance music killed all that. Now no one wants live music. They want some fast talkin' DJ who plays electronic dance. Fuggetaboutit.

Tell me when they're back, so I can buy all the cool basses (though I had some of these), brand new once more:

TUNE Bass Maniac Five
TUNE WoodBass Fretless Five
ESP Horizon 2 Five
Yamaha BB3000A
Yamaha BB5000A
Daion Mk XX
Aria SB1000, and the other one with two pickups (forget the model #) and 'all-seeing eye' inlays
Ibanez Musician (the second model with the two different size soapbars)
L-Model Steinberger
The original Hamer CruiseBass
. . . . . and a new Yamaha PB-1 preamp on top of a new P2200 (or is it the 2201, the version with the big VU meters), one of the greatest stereo power amps ever made.

Agreed!
I would be delighted if we'd start seeing some Peavey throwbacks coming out.
But, alas, I think Peavey is nothing but a memory now...:(
If the 80's is back, can we get some new Peavey Foundations?
THIS. ALL. DAY! A reissue Foundation would be sick. Make them in Indonesia or wherever, just have that 80s neck profile and Super Ferrites. Heck, do the Foundation S as well. It will fit in nicely with all the other throwback P/Js on the OP. Oh, and the Dyna Bass, too, in both 4 and 5 string! Just make sure to offer them in some 80s approved metallic paints, including that cool pale pink and 62 Blue.
...and for sure black hardware!

Can someone explain this one to me? It looks like a Precision, a Rick, a Dodge Charger, and a hockey stick had an orgy.

This was the first one I thought of when looking at the OP. It's quite a mashup. Love the green!

Also, Ibanez should reissue some of the Roadstar II and RSII Deluxe line, not just the post '86, pointy stuff.

...and for the hair metal club, a DB700 X series. This is pretty cool pointy stuff!
