Anyway, I'm in. It's the heart of baseball season, but as luck would have it, I may have a team playing a few blocks away that day so will be there.....

Bfunk I would be interested in car pooling with you to the NYC gtg
if it happens. But it's now June 11th with no word from the OP in a while I don't know if its going to take place. I ran a New England GTG a couple years ago and it took a good 6 months of planning and constant communication to get it together which is not happening here from what I
see. I hope it happens because I heard the past NYC GTG's were great. i I wish I could help but I am too far away. Can someone who is planning this give us an update please.

I'm still in although there haven't been many updates on what I'm in for - or where, exactly. I'm acting on the assumption that there is activity behind the scenes. It's easier for me to clear a day now and cancel later than drop everything at the last minute - so I've cleared the date and I'm hoping there's no need to cancel...

We can probably bring a person or two over from PA if someone wants to coordinate in time to make the appropriate plans.

There was mention of construction at the Plattedeutsche, but I couldn't tell if that was in the context of 'it's going to be awesome!' or 'we can't have this in the middle of a construction zone' so I still don't know what to make of that...

Since it's a daytrip for me, I pretty much just need to know what address to punch into the GPS and when to be there, but we might plan some sidetrips into Queens if the logistics work. So I don't _need_ to know where, exactly, right now, but for those planning overnights - a better defined time & place would be a help, I expect...

I just had contact from John about this. He's the guy who has organised the events in the past at this venue (and really put in a lot of his own effort, time and resources).

This year, it looks like he's just run out of time to get it sorted owing to pressure of other commitments. I'm sure we all know how that can get you sometimes. So, it's looking like this won't be going ahead unless someone else takes up the reins, which might be tricky in the timescale.

Maybe next year, then, guys. It was looking awkward for me to fly over for this anyway owing to some hefty work commitments over the summer here in the UK.

I'm going to close the thread for now. If anyone wants to see if they can somehow make it work and would like to post here to gauge the level of support, then please send me a PM and I'll open it back up with a note to that effect.
