Hey, look at that! I'm a spoiled brat!

Like I said before, lose the pride and start making grilled cheese sandwiches. There are plenty of guys out there not getting enough grilled cheese. At $50 a pop you could be rich in a few weeks.

I don't think enough people have read the corresponding thread to realise quite how funny this really is.

Being a christian, I have to wait until I'm married for my partner to make me even one little grilled cheese sandwich. I think it's worth the wait. :p

You could always steal a chocolate bar from the local supermarket, it's pretty easy to do.

Bananas are easier. Just hide it in your pants. And if anyone asks if you're stealing a banana just smile and say, "no, but thank you very much."

As far as the OP, I don't really any sense in jumping down his throat. This is simply the lack of perspective everyone has when younger. Some parents are able to get their children to see the light while still teenagers living at home, but most don't understand at all until they are out on their own, either to the protected freedom of college or working for a living. To me that's the danger of the increasingly more commonplace situation of kids living at home until their mid-20's - it stunts their emotional growth in many regards.

Moving out on your own to me is the trigger that really makes you appreciate what your parents did for you growing up.

when i was broke as hell two summers ago i went down to the local home depot and looked for some contractors/subs to see if they would be willing to pay for some help. I happened to run into a guy who does tile and marble who was willing to help. He also happened to be some of the very best, his family did the majority of the casinos in vegas from when it started to the mid 80's. i started at $12.00/hour. sack up and just be willing to do anything, we are not in a time where all of us can do what we want to do.

Premarital grilled cheese sandwich making is frowned upon amongst christians. This is part of the reason that I'm not one. They say one of the downfalls of marriages is the quality of the grilled cheese preparation and financial arguments. I say...protect yourself, and spend some quality time figuring out what it is and isn't that you like when it comes to grilled cheeses. Then marry someone accordingly. Good chemistry when it comes to grilled cheese making can make up for a lot of short comings in other areas.

Is it a cultural thing I'm missing? Because I don't get it =(

That'd depend on if she's been practicing how to make grilled cheese sandwiches.

Well, apparently she's watched a few late-night TV-shows on the subject. I'm not sure if I approve. :hmm:
(all major channels though...nothing REALLY dodgy)

Like having a croissant instead of a baguette.

well, getting onto what kind of bread you use to MAKE the grilled cheese sandwich, all I can say is that I have no issues in that area.
