Hideous Claw Update?

Umm, are we there yet?

The finish is done except for the last coat. The latest holdup is the inlay. The pieces of the inlay are finished and the fretboard is routed out but the inlay hasn't been glued in yet.

Once that's done the frets go in and then the nut and hardware will be set up and the electronics plotted out. After that, the hardware will be chrome-plated (which will be another delay) and the last coat of finish will be put on, electronics installed - then final set up! :hyper:

However, even if the entire bass was finished this minute I would not be able to play it. We found out back in October that the current strings available will not handle the scale length.... there are no 36" scale F# or C# strings. We did a mock setup and the nylon wrap was on the fretboard! Hopefully, SIT will pull through for me in the nick of time with some custom length strings (they are working on it!).

This hideous claw talk is starting to drive me crazy.. any bass with that name is definately going to be "interesting" especially considering Jean. :D

Turns out it's just a four-string P-bass with a small painting of Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget on the pickguard. It's got five trussrods though.
