Not exactly true.If you want a custom bass, build it yourself to your specs, because no one else wants a custom bass not customized to their own tastes. My 0.02 crypto currency coins.
Kinda like relic?Upgrade, in my experience, usually is not. And is a word of a salesman. Used far too often. In my opinion.
Yes, my ad was specific on type & brand of puHonestly i would have asked you the same as I have a very specific taste for P-bass pickups .. plus a further discount for selling me a bass without pickups …
Try taking a modded instrument to Guitar Center for trade or for them to purchase. A sales tech there once told me they don't care about upgrades when figuring our value. On the positive side, that's how I scored a Squier J with a Hipshot A bridge and Fender 60's reissue pickups for the same price as a stock used model.
So, hypothetically & for sake of argument, you’re telling me that if I were to post my very freshly modified Classic Vibe P in the classifieds for $600 (new EMG GZRs + new gold anodized pickguard + new Hipshot Kickass bridge + new DR Sunbeams) you wouldn’t be interested in buying? Absolutely NO ONE would be at all interested?

No, but I'll give you a buck two-eighty for the throw-pillows.

I don’t understand why there’s many people that think upgrading a Squier or any cheap bass means the value of the instrument goes up. I believe it’s the opposite and whatever part that gets upgraded should be kept as a value of its own and not added to the instrument.
I’m sure there’s a great counter argument to this topic and would like to hear the peoples opinions on this matter (if one cares to express).

Not in the least.
You are not obligated to buy them. However, if you think that Squier with, say, Aguilar pickups and hipshot tuners, should cost same or less than stock, think again.I don’t understand why there’s many people that think upgrading a Squier or any cheap bass means the value of the instrument goes up.
