I use the Pyramid Gold's on my Hofner and my Gibson SG. I love the tone that they produce. I believe that the E is .95. I have played the La Bella tape wounds and I liked them though they were a little "clackie" for my taste. Rob Allen uses them on his Mouse model's and are available for short scale basses on his web site.

Put me down I own a trans green Icon Hof #45 of 150 and a Blk Cherry #106 of 150 and am always keeping a eye open for the the blue black (or pink as my wife started playing bass)Hof.I owned a few other brand beatle bass guitars the best being the Epi Viola I wish I kept it and will get another in addition to the 2 Hofs I own a Jazz LTD and Ibanez Iceman but the Hofs are just so cool

Ron welcome, you are member #37. I really like the look of the black cherry.

Haha. Thanks Tahoe. As a slab I use a Hofner 500/1 copy with custom changes to it that I asked for. Not quite a Hofner, but when I found out that my upright was a Hofner too, I thought it to be quite the coincedence.

I tracked down a Hofner H500/2 Ltd Club bass in black. It has white binding, gold pickup covers, pearloid control plate and is missing the pickguard. Anyone know of a H500/2 in black ever existing? I can't seem to find any others online. Is this thing super rare?

Hi everyone, just a beginner here, but an Hofner lover. I've loved the violin bass ever since I first saw McCartney playing it on tv. I own a Turser which is nice, but I'm saving up to get myself an Hofner contemporary. I'm loving this thread and hope to see it grow and grow!

In the past couple days, I've had people on 2 separate occasions comment to me out of the blue about how impressive my blue Contemporary is. Neither had seen one in person before and were really impressed. All I can say is "yeah, I love that thing!" :)
