These don't make any sense to me. If you "dress like" one of these guys, but aren't one of these guys, you just wind up looking like a generic rocker of some sort. Never mind that most people on Earth wouldn't recognize the real Derrick or Sid or Lemmy.
I think you gotta go more universal appeal..... which means you may want to ask somebody other than us bass nerds.
If you have a day job, ask around the office. Don't ask musicians. Other than maybe Paul McCartney and Sting, most humans couldn't name you a famous bass player. So don't dress up like one.
I agree. No one would recognize many of the suggestions as costumes. However, I still think I can get away with a Sgt Pepper jacket...most people would recognize that, especially if I had a mop top wig and mustache.
