Fixed. I had a pair of thoes that didn't sound nearly as good as another kind I had (ironicly, a kind that got foam things stuck in my ear on one or two occasions; but being a bit more irresponsible than the OP I just did some self-ear excavation myself, but I digress...), and the Skull Candys broke within a week.

I'm extremely tough on things and this pair has lasted me 13 months. So i'll stick with ftw.

My guess is the ones I got were just a lemon. Still, with the bad first impression and already having ones that (IMO) sound better, I probably wont be buying them again.
