Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and to each their own, but even as a kid when it was popular among '80s metal heroes, I wasn't a fan of high-contrast crackle finishes.

I think some people are confusing flashy and ridiculous with ugly. I wouldn't play a flashy or ridiculous bass, but I also wouldn't call them ugly as they fit in perfectly in the right setting. Where there is just no setting where an Antigua finish is attractive.

What is the most horrid stock color(s) you have seen?

My entry, Fender's Antigua.

Sorry, don't mean to offend. No troll intention whatsoever. Probably great playing basses.

I was horrified the first time I saw the Antigua white color and then even more horrified that people actually liked it again enough for the re-issue. Goes to show there is a bass for every player.

As a owner of many Warwick's over the years and the current owner of a Warwick, I can say they've done great job of creating some of the ugliest finishes I've ever seen in recent years. All this rust crap is just horrid looking. Hans Pee Pee Wilfer has pretty bad taste a lot of the time. He should stick to what made his basses what they are.

Looks like this thing was left outside exposed to a couple months of Oregon liquid sunshine. WTH?
