Saw it tonight. Funniest movie i've seen in a long time. Laugh out loud funny through out most of the people in the cinema.

+1. I haven't seen any of Raimi's horror work beyond DMtH and ED, but if DMtH is any indication, I would love 'em I love how the movie could make ME jump, yet moments later have me LOLing

I purchased and watched Martyrs yesterday. I can honestly say I haven't had a movie disturb me that much in quite some time. Again I am reminded that America is trailing far behind in the current horror genre.

Not sure how much of a horror movie this is rather than a suspense film, but I watched Roman Polanski's "the tenant" last night and thought it was an awesome film. Starts to get very strange about half way through.

The Haunting in Connecticut

Watched it tonight.
Cool story with good acting. Some of the special effects were really well done.
If you like watching horror flicks where things make you jump this is probably the one for you.

Looked like one of those movies where the only scares were things suddenly popping into view or really loud music cues (ie not really scary). I'll give it a watch if there's more to it than that.

That movie is on a whole nutha level - once was enough - don't need to see that one again

Haunting in Connecticut kinda struck me as The Amityville Horror with modern fx. I will probably watch it, but it's not real high on my list.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. FWIW, on the Blu-Ray DVD there is an unrated version which I assume is a little more gory. At the beginning there is a scene with some body carving in it, but that's about as hard core as it gets. The rest of the movie is pretty tame.

Supposedly, it's based on a true story and from what I understand doesn't live up to the book or the documentary.

Bryan, being from Connecticut, have you heard anything about this story?

The only haunting in Connecticut that I know of is a noxious apparition that seems to consistently haunt my bathroom about three hours after I eat Indian food.

I think generally foreign horror is pretty messed up in a good way. Why can't American movie makers do decent horror these days? Without relying on an old story for a remake. The new Friday the 13th was definitely good but still just a remake filled with cliche slasher movie scenes.

Jeepers Creepers 2 was funny as hell.
My brother and I saw it in the theater and found it Hilarious. We got some strange looks during the film but by the end everyone was laughing.

Beyond The Door scared the bejebus out of me when I was a kid. The part when the mother says to her child "Who are you?". It still freaks me out thinking about it.
