HOT HAND 3 (NEW ring design)

Glad you're liking the sounds but that battery life issue must be frustrating. If you try letting the ring charge over night that may fix the problem. If not, send me a PM

PM sent a few days ago :-) I should think you'll have a backlog to get through after holiday period so no worries if it takes a bit to get back to me. tried the overnight charge on a few nights now, around the 3 hour mark is when the ring starts to lose connection to the base unit and soon needs a recharge.

sounds like the ring is not connecting. I'm sure you have already, but about all you can do is cycle the power on reciever or hold down Calabrate/Reset button. After that email SA

yeah! i hold the reset button and hol the ring close to the receiver and the LED on the ring still blink even i hold the reset button for 1 min. I have a question: i must plug the TRS cable to the exp input in 3rd party pedal right? and the Exp input in my Hd500 is pedal2 and in the Vox delay lab is control pedal ? if i was right, can anybody tell me what i need to do to make the ring work?

Hey Junx,

Try unplugging the unit and powering off the ring. Then turn the ring on and place it right next to the unit while it blinks. When you plug the unit back in they should find each other. Let me know how that works! Send me a PM.

thanks for your help, Itswac. But i was do it over time and the ring still blink. I take a look on the manual, they said when we power the receiver with DC power, the receiver status will blink. But my receier wont blink and when i press the reset button and hold the ring so close with the receiver, the ring still blink. Is my hot hand 3 in error?

I'm not sure new HH and old HH are compatable like that. The new HH3 has 3 axis and original HH is only 2 axis I believe.

Edit: Cool, it will (Note to self, the SA guys actually anwser questions here - awesome)

Hey guys,

First of all, I've been looking through most of the HH threads - nice work on the top customer service, SA! ;) love it.

Secondly, I've been VERY intrigued in the Hot Hand for a good few months now - ever since I first found out about your Nathan! Haha... I've just got a nice hefty bit of cash from college and I've only just got enough for the HH3. But seeing as though I've always got no money, I won't be able to afford the BEF's and stuff as of yet.
I was wondering if the HH3 works with no pedals whatsoever (other than the receiver) and just affects the amp? I've tried looking everywhere for answers, but this I can't seem to find.
If so, I'll be buying one at the end of the week. I just don't wanna be splashing out on that, just to find out that I can't use it haha

Thanks a lot :)

VladtheLad, yep, its just an expression pedal controller, BUT there are affordable pedal with an expression input so you can get into the HH game that way too. Pretty cool that SA opened the door on that so you would not have to exclusive use the HH on their pedals. But if you get a Pro SA pedal you can use an expression pedal AND the HH at the same time. big fun there

I know this may make me sound pretty stupid, but I've never actually been big on effects - hence why I have no pedals (but I'm wanting to start) - so I'm not even sure what these Expression Pedals are that you's are talking about haha. I reckon a quick Google Lesson is in order.
But what you're saying is, I'll need one of those first, to be able to use it?
I reckon I'll buy a pedal THEN buy the HH when I have some more money then.

Does anyone have any recommendations on which pedal to get? Probably in the £100-150 price range?
I'm wanting to have two different styles, one with Distortion and Wah (bit like Cliff Burton) and then a more Dubby sort of sound, using the HH3. If I could get this with just using 2 pedals, that'd be perfect, but I'm not sure what the Multi-Efx pedals are like.
I reckon I'd love a Soundblox Pro, but it's just slightly out of my price range and I can't find any on eBay, used. Haha (unless anyone's a drummer in their spare time, and wants to buy a cymbal off me ;)?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D and please forgive this noob, gimme a chance. Lmao

If you are new to pedals, a lot of people recomment the Zoom B3. It has a ton of fx, a tuner, looper and a DI output. So it's like a swiss army knife of fx. Then you can experiment with different stuff. HH should work with the Zoom B3 too.
