Yes, it's 1.3mm inner diameter 3.5 outer diameter. Good eye!
Barrel is NEGATIVE, Tip POSITIVE
And noted about the right angle. We've slowly been changing over our power supplies to all right angle plugs.

Jesse, you are the man! Thanks for the confirmation. Also, it's much appreciated your trying to rectify Kobaia's problem with a converter...again showing SA's superior customer service...Good stuff!!

Ok, back to me...do you know where I can get a right angle, 5v, 1.3mm x 3.5mm DC adapter? If it's something that you guys will soon release, then I'll hang tight for the official version.

how many power supplies are out there that would support a 3.5mm barrel jack that runs 5v. My guess would be 0.

sorry if I come across as an a******, but i just spent $150 on a paper weight. And let me clarify. I think the Hot Hand concept is a great idea, and in general a good reliable product. You guys have changed the game as far as what possible with an expression option. but this specific detail is killing me.

It's alright. I understand that this is bugging you. No worries.
Until we come up with an "official" solution:
If you're using the PP2+ you could actually use one of the SAG outputs to power the receiver. If they aren't already occupied. You would just need a regular 9V barrel connector to one of the MINI sizes that we are using. I could help you figure this out.

You'd have to be careful about where the SAG knob is set so the voltage doesn't get too high. It's a bit hacky, yes but it would do the trick I think. I have a PP2 here that I can check.

Excellent, I got two rings with my old-model HH so I don't think I need any more rings, at least not for now. I am interested in pursuing this upgrade path of buying just the new HH3 receiver element, and implementing the power option off of one of the "sag" output on a Voodoo Labs PP2+. I will check in here and keep an eye on the developing solutions.

Thanks for being responsive to us customers. I know how hard it is to get new, innovative products out the door, and for the thousands of things you guys got right all we see immediately is the show-stopper for our own usage. But taking it in as information for the next rev is the way to do it. It seems like a very exciting product.

Hi guys,
I just received my HH3. It's tiny!
I have the power problem too, even more so as I am in Australia and I need an extra plug to plug converter for the switch mode power supply powering the HH3 base station.

I really did not want to be running another power cord from my pedal board, 2 mains leads from my board is enough!

Anyhoo, I have a Voodoo Labs PP2 powering everything bar my M9.
My first thought was I have to power the HH3 from this somehow so I bought an adjustable dc/dc converter and a 1.3mm plug and set that up. It works!

The thin I realize now is that the PP2 has the sag control on 2 outputs (goes from 9-4V) andd i could have just bought this:

Oh well, I have come up with a solution for other 9V power supplies anyway :rollno:

Also, the 1.3mm (both the adapter and the solder on) plug was only available in straight so that PIA still exists....

got the bef and hothand through yesterday. had a good couple of hours working through the manuals and trying everything out in my live set up. the hot hand is going to give me so much to work with live and it didn't take too long to set it how i want it. Really looking forwad to hooking it up to my old midi sequencer and tryig the user settings for the lfo via midi too.. very nice touch adding the midi interface,makes this unit very usable in both live and studio setups.

Another very valid oversight. We admired that particular finish on another product and thought it would look nice on HH3. It does look nice, but I got out my pedalboard Velcro and had the same issue. I also tried to wipe down the surface with rubbing alcohol and had no luck either. Finally, I scuffed up the bottom surface with some 100 grit sandpaper. Since the HH3 receiver is so light compared to a metal housing, the scuffed up HH3 was able to hold on sufficiently.

We aspire to perfection, but never seem to get it right on a new product. All of this input is invaluable and a key reason we engage so actively with TB users. Thank you!!

I have the same problem with a "Riot Bass Chorus" (boss knockoff). the velcro just wont stick to it, but if I clean it up paper labels (and ducttape presumably) stick to it fine, Velcro should attach fine to both of these. :)

Ductape!! I should have thought of that. Will try it out today.

(ps - we are thinking about your template. We are upgrading our IT systems right now and it is a painful experience :help:)

got the BEF and hot hand 3 recently in the uk from bass direct. awesome bit of kit and I'm getting some really good sounds. However the ring is lasting no where near the quoted 6 hours on a full charge. Best I've had is 2 hours and at tonight's band jam session it was dead in 90 mins, again after a full charge (LED had stopped flashing after just over an hour on charge, indicating it had finished charging) any help would be greatly appreciated.

Glad you're liking the sounds but that battery life issue must be frustrating. If you try letting the ring charge over night that may fix the problem. If not, send me a PM

So i've managed to get a small strip of the hook side to stick to the bottom of the receiver. I attached some loop to the bottom of my board and then zip tied it into place upside down between my voodoo labs. So its not going anywhere.

This does not sound right. We have seen a few flawed batteries, but otherwise 6 hours is not far off. At NAMM we use them almost all day. Can I assume this is a NEW ring (Hot Hand 3) and not the old design? Contact itswac if you have any further issues.

yes it's a brand new out of the box hot hand 3. The suggested charge time of 1 to one and a half hours made me think there could be an issue as the light on the ring stops flashing after about 40 mins charging even though it was supposedly totally flat and had switched itself off after no more than 2 hours playing time.Even with the light off, is it still charging? I had considered leaving it on charge a full hour to see if it made any difference.
