HOT HAND 3 (NEW ring design)

Addressed, yes. Resolved, no. :)
I just started putting together some prototypes and I'm planning on making a small number of "production" units to start. I say production lightly since they will be hand assembled and might still be a bit hacky but they will work!

So it will have a 5.5mm on one side for connecting to the 9V jacks on the PP2 (or similar units) and it has the small 3.5mm plug on the other side with 5V output for powering the ring or the receiver.

I'll keep Roger informed and he will let you guys know when they are ready.

How is this coming along? I really need to have it hard wired into my pedal powered rig for quick setup/teardown...

Hello to everyone,

I have a question about the Hot Hand 3!

I am thinking of buying it so that I use it with the BSY600 synth pedal (which has an expression input).

My question is.. if I have more pedals after the synth pedal (for example fuzz/distortion, envelope filter etc) without expression inputs, can I have those sounds together with synth using the Hot Hand, or the Hot Hand will process only the sound of the pedal with the expression input?

Thanks for any help!!

The HH3 can only send expression to 1 SA pedal and 1 non SA pedal at a time. The SA pedal could be daisy chained with other SA pedals to send the hot hand signal down the line to the . If you want to control multiple non SA pedals you would need a device like the mission Expressionator.

So, if I put the HH3 for using the BSY600 synth pedal (which has an expression input), I can use for example and a distortion pedal (without expression input) only just after BSY600??

And the BSY600 must be opened together with the non SA pedal so as to have the distortion sound for HH3?

And finally, the pedal before the synth pedal in chain can't be used with HH3. Right?

It's alright. I understand that this is bugging you. No worries.
Until we come up with an "official" solution:
If you're using the PP2+ you could actually use one of the SAG outputs to power the receiver. If they aren't already occupied. You would just need a regular 9V barrel connector to one of the MINI sizes that we are using. I could help you figure this out.

You'd have to be careful about where the SAG knob is set so the voltage doesn't get too high. It's a bit hacky, yes but it would do the trick I think. I have a PP2 here that I can check.

Has an official solution been discovered yet? I don't have a PP2 or a power supply with a SAG knob(I use a BBE Supacharger). I'd love to have this figured out by the time my HUB arrives.

Yes I want to know this too!

Sorry about the delay. Jesse has been busy! The design is done, we just need to build them. We will sell them via our web store in about 4 weeks.

Are you referring to the HUB or to a power supply solution? And if the latter, what is the solution?

The HUB is for sale right now, I just bought one this morning from the SA online store, so I'm pretty sure he's referring to the power supply cable for the HH3.

That's what I figured, I'm just not sure what the solution is. It's a cable that reduces the voltage from a typical PP2+ type of power supply and fits the smaller HH3 power jack?

This is a supply for HH3 when used on a pedal board with no easy access to 5VDC. It is a small device with 2 cables/plus coming out of it. One side takes the 9VDC power from a pedalboard supply and the other side sends this off to the H3, which requires a 5VDC supply. It requires like one chip on a PCB, but all of that needs to be built, tested, etc. It is really easy, but takes time to get done.
