Hmm, I wish I had a #2 bass. AFAICT, all my basses are #1s.

I sometimes need a five which makes my G&L M-2500 number one in a practical sense, but it has such fantastic tone and playability that I often play it when I don't need a five. It's definitely number one, and the silver medal goes to my favorite four-string stage bass, my G&L JB with Lace Sensor Man o' War pickups.

#1? #2? I'm not sure if that means which bass gets played the most and which bass get's played 2nd most or which bass is the favorite and which bass is the second favorite.

This is my favorite bass (1953). And this is my 2nd favorite. (1966)

In my particular case, it's the same either way. But, doesn't matter to me, I just thought it would be interesting to ask people to show off something other than their #1, whatever that means.

A heavily modded Matt Freeman signature with Dimarzio Model P and Pro Steels. I like the fact that when the #1 arrives, it'll really have to prove its worth against this
