How did i get myself into this?????

Welcome to my world. The wind is always honkin' and the
salt air rusts all my strings in a month.

Sorry I missed it, Westerly is a bit of a haul for me. Glad it
wasn't too bad an experience, Monday was pretty nice
weather wise as far as beach weather goes.

Yeah, throw up a video. Gotta see that Michelle Phillips
action going down. :p

You don't want to know - two years ago I dug my old bass out of the attic when I decided I wanted to play again - everything inside and outside that was metal was so badly rusted I ended up throwing it out. (No great loss, it was a POS fender clone I got from a pawn show years ago; someone had sanded it down, painted it black with yellow highlights, and there was no decal left on the headstock...lots of other decals that were coming off, though.) Just as well, the Ibby and then the Fender P bass I bought last year would have played rings around that poor old clone... But since I got the new basses, I'm wiping them down and cleaning them on a regular basis...and periodically checking the inside caviities to make sure nothings started to rust inside!

I just found this thread. Absolutely hilarious, although it sounds like the band's becoming better now. Looking forward to pics, vids and whatnot.

much better. lots of lipstick.

i lived on the beach in ct but we have less wind due to the sound. never played outside on the beach in the wind so that was novel. and never had so much salt deposited on me and my stuff. very interesting.

Guess who doesn't really know the songs? Yeah, you were right. The band leader. Sound familiar to anyone?
:

Sounds very familiar.
I was in a band for nearly 2 years where this was always the case. It was fun at the start because it was the first band i was in and so i overlooked the flaws because of the novelty of being in a band. But very soon the novelty wears off, and you just want to try to be more professional about things.

well tomorow we play for an hour in kersonken NY (or something like that) at a fair or something for an hour 3-4. 2 1/2 hour drive one way, gotta get there one hour early, play for an hour, and then split. yippee.

on a funnier not, i get an e-mail from the band leader asking us all to get PASSPORTS. Yeah. Like for Europe. (I'm thinking Europa might be more likely). Seems that he's been talking to a byrds trib band that played europe last year and apparently flower power trib bands are supposed to be hot over there. Wow. Heavy. Far out............

turns out the last gig was near new paltz and was for sprout, an organization that runs vacations for the developmentally disabled. they loved us! great gig despite, well, you know. we may go back there on the 19th of this month.

next up is the bolton fair in lancaster mass. man i hope this dude books local next year......

what about those dehumidifier bags or cedar chips tossed in the case.....im sure it wouldn't be difficult to find out what that chemical is and make up a bag or two

well due to bogus info from the band and my daughter i now am double booked for a gig and her hs graduation. someone bail me out for this one gig. you won't have to wear a crazy shirt, the drummer and guitar player rock, and i have detailed set lists, mp3s transcripts, and notes on the sets. easy gig for a pro - (like me)
