This was the link that was sent to me... I was impressed, to say the least.

Now go check out gojira![]()
They put on an amazing show. Jean-Michel Labadie is very underrated as a bass player in my opinion. One of those groove guys that kinda flies under the radar. And Mario Duplantier is just a beast on the drums.I plan to next month in concert!
So, is there other music kinda like this but without the bloody cookie monster vocals? Can't listen to it.

What are ‘must hear’ Opeth songs?
That's a loaded question as they have covered a lot of ground over the course of their 25+ year career. They have some straight up prog or death metal stuff. They have a lot in between. Personally, I am more partial to their earlier work. If you are into prog and don't like growled vocals their recent albums are pretty mellow. What are ‘must hear’ Opeth songs?
I was all about the way Mikal combined the two. The swings between the harsh and beautiful. The orchestration. I got into these guys in 1997 with My Arms Your Hearse. When Heritage came out it broke my heart. In my mind Opeth broke up after Watershed and some other band using their name to play shows.Yeah, I think that's what kept Opeth "off my radar" for so long. I hear that type of growl vocal and just figure, "Well, this isn't aimed at ME..." and tune out. But the parts with actual singing are GREAT!
