How do you feel about Sweetwater rep calls?

My guy is very knowledgeable & good (Nick) but I did get a call from another salesman who said he noticed that I was looking at some gear on the Sweetwater site. I told him that Nick was my guy & he sort of apologized. I know that their software alerts them when a client is on their website, as did the insurance company that I retired from alerted us but we weren’t supposed to tell clients that we knew they were searching on the website. It’s kind of creepy if you think about it.

pretty much my current rep in spades. i don't remember my previous rep, but i was assigned him last year. no clue what instrument he plays but he's nice enough. i went through my usual motions explaining that i order things under my legal name, just because fedex and my building aren't gonna know who it is if i don't. he's nice to me about that situation and i try to be nice back

My SW sales brah seems to have figured out I won't answer his cold calls, so he doesn't do it anymore. Aside from that, he's actually been pretty helpful.

I've had the same rep for many years now. I gave him my landline so his occasional followups go straight to voice mail.

If all I had was a cell, then I'd still let the calls go to VM. He's a good dude so I probably wouldn't unsubscribe, but of course that's the easy solution.

I have a sales rep. named Candace. She takes great care of me and never gives me unsolicited calls. We've had some pretty good conversations too.

Dunno. I happen to like my Sweetwater rep. He’s been very helpful to me on several occasions.

But people who freak out over receiving a phone call are gonna freak out over getting one and tell you so I suppose. I just let all but a few numbers that call me go directly to voicemail. Easy-peasy.

I personally find unsolicited text messages far more intrusive and annoying.

I don't mind but I usually get a text. The best thing about talking to them is I get some great discounts if I ask.

I really don't like talking to "my rep" , it always feels like a forced conversation to me .

I used to have a different rep at Sweetwater. He was a bit of a wank. For some reason, we did not get along. I eventually asked to switch to a bass player. Much happier now. My guy’s name is Andy Rice. He plays upright and electric bass and he’s great.

My rep is also And Rice , nice guy .

I don’t mind them calling. I don’t always have much for them. No, I’m good right now, thanks.
I liked my old rep Mike but don’t know what happened to him. New guy is ok, but doesn’t listen well. I told him I was busy, but did want to inquire on a piece of gear, could he call me late in the day tomorrow?
Next day at about 9:30 in the morning I’m on a conference call and there I see my Sweetwater rep calling.

I don't care for my SW sales rep either. I found him annoying and the two times I asked for help, he was useless. After that capital holdings group that also owns Musicians Friend and Guitar Center bought them, I stopped shopping there.

My rep is Andy Rice and while a nice guy , I would rather not have a conversation with him . I know he has a call list and the conversation always feels forced to me and it's not his fault , it's totally on me .

My thing has always been, if I do business with you, I don’t mind you calling. That’s just sales and business.
If I don’t know you or do business with your company, I will not be happy you called.

Half the people complain they can't get service, half the people complain they get too much service. It only takes a minute to thank them for their time, but let them know you would appreciate being put on their no call list. I'm not sure what benefit people get out of being jerks.

I love the personal service from Sweetwater. In fact, it's the sole reason I prefer dealing with them. Pricing for gear is pretty standardized, and one site is as good as another for internet shopping. Sweetwater adds a personal touch that I like.

I deal with phone trees all day at my day job. But if I have a question about a piece of music gear, I have a direct phone number to my sales rep. No "please listen carefully as our menu options have changed". He occasionally makes a brief and polite follow up call when I buy something. Old school. I suppose different reps have different styles, but mine (shout out to Jed) is great.

I view the sales calls as an opportunity to get some exercise... I get off the couch, look at the phone to see who it is and walk all the way back to the couch.

They have a job to do.. and in my view they do it well, after all... we're still talking about them. They aren't sam ash... or for that matter, thoroughbread music, Riff City Music, or any number of other stores that have closed their doors.
