How do you like the new changes to talkbass.com ?

Well, it's nice not to have to bother with image hosting sites to post pics, so that's a plus. Apart from that.....not so great.

It may be user error on my part, but I miss all the text editing options, even the emoticons. Is it me, or do the avatars all look cropped and less defined?

You need to re-upload your avatar, per Paul's notice. Old ones don't scale correctly to the new format.

There are some nice changes. The mobile view is much better than the old site, it "scales down" automatically like modern web sites. I like that new posts don't "time out" and that you can get a full 27 pages each time you refresh them and they stay put without an error message. The "watch" feature with alerts is pretty cool too, although I do miss the daily (nightly) e-mails of subscription updates. Good thing they fixed the classifieds, although I'm not sure you can bump multiple threads at one time, which could be a problem for some users. All in all, quicker & better. Oh, and I definitely like the retro (pale blue) theme better than the other.

I am really digging them so far!!!

I love the classifieds and the ability to 'like' posts!

How about you?

From the evidence I've seen, the like feature does not like a particular post, instead it likes the poster, e.g., look under my avatar. I have one like that I got yesterday. It has nothing to do with the current post. As far as I am concerned, it is a wasted feature. I would favor a feature that allowed readers to "agree" or "disagree" with a particular comment, with the count of each showing up in the same frame with the comment. Maybe this would eliminate the annoying +1 and -1 post that add no additional content to the thread. You know you've done it; we all have at one time or another.

That number is how many times anyone has liked anything you've posted. It has nothing to do with them liking you as an entire entity, just solitary posts that happened to be created by you.

The pictures in the classifieds is a huge improvement. I actually found a bass I have been looking for! Pics stand out so much better than page after page of text.

Waiting to see what happens with the app before I have an opinion on the update. So far, OK, but no thrilled with it other than the pics.

Just switched style to retro, much easier on the eyes!

I miss being able to find posts I have previously posted in. I used to use that feature a lot. I'm not sure if the new format does it too, but I haven't found it yet.
Try hovering over your username in the upper right of the screen. Then choose "content" in the drop down window. That shows all the posts you've made. I think it's actually easier then it was before. So far, using the retro style I haven't found anything that I can't do now that I could do before.

If you want to find the threads you have posted in, or a list of all your individual posts, try this:

Go to your profile page
Click on the information tab
Scroll down to "interact"
You will see "find all content" & "find all threads"

Hope that helps!

Doesn't work on the iPad, but imma try it on the PC.
