How long have you owned you main player ?

My #1 is a sunburst Squier DJAV that I bought last January. It was a really great find. It does exactly what I was looking for when I bought it. It's got a clean, focused tone that will cut through the mix. (and it didn't break the budget!)

My #2 is a 6-string Peavey Grind. I got it in April of 2004. It was my number #1 until I got the Squier. I've got it specially set up for the trio situation I use it in about every other week. It's tuned EADGCF. It gives me more flexibility to do leads and chording.

I've had my '87 Ric 4003 since 1997. I've recently been playing my Geddy and my Squier VM that I modded a little more to keep the miles off the Ric.

I do have other basses that I've owened for 17 years or so but the Ric has been my main bass since the day I got it.

I got my ~1983-86 Schecter California Custom B/4 in 1993.

The other two axes in my arsenal that either play a close second (like Avis) or at one time and for a very long time were my main bass are the 1982 Steinberger L-2 and the 1988 Modulus Graphite Quantum-6 SPX, both of which I bought brand new in their year of manufacture.

Though I have been playing the crap out of my 2007 Rob Allen MB-2 lately, so maybe that's my main bass? Damn you Major Metal, why all the hard questions?!?!?!?!

I've got 02 standard jazz that is just a sweet bass. Slightly rough around the edges when I brought her home. A little cleanup work on fret ends and assorted stuff like that and she sings. This bass has great sustain and really is quite loud acoustically.

That even comparing it to my Geddy jazz.

This is a funny question for me. I played my first bass for almost 20 years straight. An interruption here and there, but always back to her. Now, I have had my Modulus G5 for about a year, but in that year, I have played maybe 4 other basses. I don't play only one anymore.
