1. If I were more than a bedroom player at this point, I'd have more.

But, it's a PF500 into a PF115HE, so not a bad way to annoy the neighbors.

Just one - a Markbass Mini Marcus 250

My other amp doesn't meet the criteria here - a 1990s Pioneer home cinema "hifi" amp, so old it has a "Laser Disc" input But works fine for home practice with a powered sub.

Traynor BassMate YBA2B. Lives under my desk as a practice amp. Good for that purpose, but works much better as a guitar amp.

Fender Rumble 100 V3. Lives at rehearsal space as practice amp.

Fender Bassman 100. Never used for bass, was my guitar gigging amp. Lives in my music room as it is too heavy to drag down the stairs. Best sounding amp I have ever owned.

MarkBass LMII and MB 2x10 Cab. Gigging amp.

Fender Rumble 100 V1. My son's amp, on long term loan to our keys player.

Wow my first 5 string bass was a Vantage. I didn't know they made amps too. It was the only 5 string in the shop at the time. Internet wasn't around really at the time.

Got it in 1999 I guess. Probably made by Samick. Your Vantage might be a Matsumoku and if so: f-ing great axe! I have a Matsumoku Aria ProII P-bass from 1984. Although I also got a Vantage acoustic guitar that is an awesome instrument either. Indonesian produce. Samick also?

Had a bunch of amps and cabs and sold nearly all of them. Only have 6 or so… well, if I start counting the ones I have left, I’ll probably come up with more than 6, but certainly less than the number of guitar amps I have! Wait, that isn’t helping…

I generally have two "setups" at any given time, although I'll also mix and match the pieces in different circumstances:

• Home/Recording/Small Gig Rig - Genz Benz Shuttlemax 9.2 powering Carvin RL 210 cab. This one has been consistent for several years and is unlikely to change unless one of the pieces dies. The Carvin RL was the first bass cab I ever owned and is now enjoying semi-retirement. The Shuttle is a great amp and obviously somewhat overkill for this purpose, but it doesn't tend to be my main gigging amp solely because I most often gig with two 4 ohm cabs.

• Main Live Rig - Genz Benz Shuttlemax 12.0 powering either one or two Markbass 104HR cabs. The Shuttlemax 12 is a very recent pickup that hasn't seen a gig yet but has performed well in loud rehearsals. For most of the past 15 years or so I used pre/power setup, most recently QSC GX5 powering a SansAmp RPM or Mesa Subway DI, but I recently sold the GX5 after confirming that the Shuttlemax could get the job done with the Markbass cabs. I still may sometimes use the Shuttle 12 as a poweramp for the Subway DI, which I enjoy a lot as a preamp.

I am contemplating getting a small tube amp, like an ampeg portaflex pf-20t.

2. An Acoustic Image Clarus 4 does everything I need an amp to do. Then there is a Quilter Interbass.

Sometimes I have a little GAS for something cool but really I do not need it, and in most cases it doesn't quite sound the way I need it to in my branch of music, and the Clarus does.
