How many amps do you guys own?

Downsizing. Only 2 left - Rumble 100 and Yorkville XM50.
Sansamp DI for band gigs.

I seem to be doing the opposite.....since my last post I've aquired:

A Peavey Mark III, that needs a bit of work....

....an Acoustic 150b that also needed a bit of repairs....

......and a Hotone Thunder Bass "nano" amp

2. Ampeg Micro VR (secondary/back-up) through two SVT210's

4. Markbass 801 (travel)
5. Hotone ThunderBass (headphone)

Yes, I could travel with the D4, but the Markbass is a bit louder which helps when playing with the folks I travel with/to.

Yes, I could use one of the others for a headphone amp, but the Hotone is just so cool/fun.

#1: Lab Systems SS600.
I went looking for an older style solid state amp after having issues with my Markbass 151 combo. Saw the Lab advertised for $600AUS... Took my bass and 115 cab with me... plugged it all in, set everything to noon and played some Doors through it. Instantly, there was the sound I'd been searching for.
#2: Lab Systems VP600HP with tube preamp...
The first one was just so sweet I went looking for others.
A local bassist here had one for sale or swap. He was looking for a GK 800 amp but nobody had one but I found one in a local pawn shop for a stupidly low price.
Relayed the info back to the guy. He bought it and sold me the VP600HP for half the price he had advertised. Win Win situation and everyone's happy.

Eventually found 3 more LS amps: 800bi amp, VP600S and SS300.
All got sold because they simply didn't get used.

Went thru about 7 or 8 in the past 5 years; experimenting, trying them out, auditioning, looking for, y'know, that sound!
~Have now landed on and settled down somewhat with the PJB BG120 Cub Pro and it's C2 extension cab. ~I'm still not totally sure it's my ultimate final choice, but the sound is good and likable, is close enough (damnit!), plus the fit and finish and ultra lightweight convenience of these marvelous little 16lb boxes is absolutely stunning IMO!!

Got a couple of amps. Yep, partial to Sunn 2000S and it's kin...(4 X 6550) tubes referred to as the "1000 Series" amps, ie 1000S, 1200S, 1500S and 2000S. And the Showmans. Ah done lost count.

1. '71 Sunn 200s amp bought (took over payments when I replaced a bass player) in '73 in 11th grade for my high school cover band. Still have it, still use it - this pic is from 2014 out in my garage space. Used to use it with a Sunn Coliseum 118 w/ a CerwinVega reflex horn box which I hated. Sold it to friend Joe Preston in '91.

2. Plush cab (sideways w/ TR505 drum machine) w/ 2 Altec 411s that replaced the Sunn 118 . Used it with a Peavey Mark III (busted - out of the pic) for years in cover and original '80s.

3. '74 Sunn Concert head bought from pawn shop '89 for $125.
4. Also bought the Sunn 8028 w/ Transducer 12+18 for $100 around the same time from a DB guy. Bitch to move, but fun cab.
5. Sunn Concert Slave I bought for $80 from a guitar player 'bout the same time, just cuz he didn't want it.

6. Sunn Concert 215 cab rescued '14 off of a burn pile (?????!!!!) at my guitar players house! Free. Loaded it with JBL 2005s @ $50 apiece.

7. The Peavey is my wife's old 3 channel keyboard combo I use for the drum machine, IPod, and laptop.

8. On top of that is a Kalamzoo Model Two an old retired harp player gave me around 2012. Great for Tele!!

9. Crate BX-40 w a 12" got from a keyboard player around '96 - some bass left it at his house. Had issues, so took it to the shop and agreed the $50 I paid in repair was enuff to make it mine. Not a bad amp, 5 band EQ is nice with a bass and treble boost at either end. Good for little coffee shop trio things - can get a decent tone, but not "magic".

10. GK1001rb/210 combo bought used $400 '13 - maybe even on TB - which 'til recently has been my main. LOVE IT! But has been having issues - not sure what to do.
10. GK MBE 410 neo 8Ω ext cab. Nice, LOUD, lightweight - sometimes stack, sometimes run over to other side of stage. One of the few things I ever bought new '14 - $475.

11. Little Park (Marshall) practice amp 12" my wife got me for my birthday '92 when she worked in a music store. It's OK - just use it for headphones - now she uses it in here church to run her little Hammond. She likes it!

12. A Shure Vocal Master PA that was my high school band's when they were the schizz. Bought it from the guitar player '80 for $100. Still works. Have used it a couple of times and that thing sounds really sweet with warm TUBEY goodness! 6 channel - sets up in 5 minutes, but never use it - last used '02 at a bar gig when guitar player forgot his ION Block power cord. Bar was just a few blocks from my house so grabbed the VM. My wife used the VM mixer as her synth stack keyboard mixer '80s before she got the Peavey '90s.

NOT SHOWN:
13. GK Fusion 800 210 combo to replace the 1001. Bought new last year $1300. This pic is from '14, I think.

14. Marshall 412 bass cabinet bought '98 for $100. Never use it. Hate it - Celestion Greenies break up super fast, unusable except with the Sunn 200s med volume. And weighs a friggin ton.

15. TBA 3 channel keyboard combo I use in the house spare bedroom with headphones. Runs bass, keyboard, and laptop for early morning streaming practice.

16. '70s Traynor TS-200 guitar amp I had to rent in '82 right before taking off to play Alaska and my Mark III broke down the day before leaving. ran to the music store "What you got, man?! Need it for 2 months", so by the time the gig was up the rent paid for it at $50/month plus anoter $50 = $150. kids.

One physical amp, though I am researching a secondary unit. Ampeg (RB110) is #1 for me. I am looking at an Ashdown Studio or GK MB as my possible/potential second unit.

I have dozens of amp models. I am a home studio-type composer/songwriter.

Eden WT-600 RoadRunner: many gigs and many dollars earned with this fabulous sounding head. One channel is shot, hopefully get it fixed one day, but tech services (like everything else ) are priced so sky high

SWR Studio 220: sounds fantastic, amp section cuts out when you get on the gas, lately being used as preamp only (with Crown / Crest or QSC power). Might do ok stand - alone, at low levels. See above

Aguilar TH350: little ankle - biter is growing on me

Since I like the old school antique stuff, I should take an electronics class so I can fix my own gear.

After reading a recent thread about amp life spans and how/why they are replaced, I started wondering how many amps people might have laying around. Could be a lead sled, tube head, combo, PA system, repurposed guitar amp or something else entirely. How many things do you have laying around that can drive a cabinet and you use for playing bass?

Stories and rundowns encouraged!

Ok I have 2 ha5500, 1 ha 3500, 1 ha 2500, 1 Orange 50, 1 silverface Bassman 100, 1 vox , 1 rumble 25 and 2 Rumble 15 and a very old TNT100 plus other junk amps ...OH! NO! I am a BASS AMP HORDER......I may need HELP.
Well I do need the TWO HA5500 and the Bassman 100 and maybe the Orange. I have to say I pickup some of my amps at Garage sails etc cheep.

The last one had been for three years in my basement and I have recently used in some gospel gigs I had. It is heavy, but it sounds good. And I can't complain about the quality either.
