With your location being in Wycombe I suspect that like me you're a fan of vintage British tube amps. These are often amazing for bass even if they're labelled as "All Purpose" or "PA" or whatever. As long as it's got a hi-z input and suitable speaker outputs (ohms) for a bass cab it's easily as good as the bass-specific models IMO. Manufacturers like Hiwatt, Selmer, Carlsbro, Simms-Watts, Orange/Matamp, Watkins/WEM, Sound City, Laney... Lots of bargains to be found even today, as long as you avoid the expensive guitar/bass-specific models (which are also great amps of course but some of them outrageously expensive, especially for the "cooler" stuff like vintage Hiwatt, Orange/Matamp). I still dream of the Simms-Watts 200w "POW" PA-head that I stupidly sold years ago. One the best bass amps I'be ever owned.

you are correct again! I have 2 Elgens 1 carlsboro and 1 laney.
The laney is a 100 super pa. It’s the loudest of all my valve amps.
Massive partridge transformers and runs 600v on the plates
It melts the screen grids of modern EL34 so I have upped the screen grids and am currently running KT77 in it. I would love to know how many watts it actually puts out.
I plan to run the power stage from an Ampeg PF350.
I would love that’s Sims Watts

Bass
Fender Super Bassman + Fender Neo 610 Cab
Fender Rumble 40
Blackstar Amplug2 Fly Bass
Ampeg SVT-112AV Cab (bought to use under the head in smaller places but don't use it ever so probably will sell)

Guitar
Orange OR15 + Orange OBC212 Cab
1971 Fender Twin Reverb

I haven't tried to the OR15 into the Ampeg cab yet... I may do that before selling the Ampeg. See how that sounds as a low watt tube solution.
