I can't remember when I responded to this. but my bass situation has been pretty stable for the most part: Lakland 55-02d, Fender fretted and fretless Jazzes, Spector NS2a, NS Designs WAV4, Chapman Stick, SWR Redhead into a SWR Triad, GK MB112, Little Mark II into a Schroeder 1212l.

My daughter's Squier Precision Plus for outdoor shows.

There have been SOME changes. My SWR rig is gone. And I've added a Lakland 55-60 fretless. I haven't touched my daughter's Squier in a couple of years. I'm planning a build for the outdoor gig and backup bass. Moses Graphite P neck, MM shaped bridge pickup with regular J polepieces on one coil and EBMM polepieces on the other. Regular P pickup in the middle. I haven't decided on the preamp yet.

Currently I have 8 basses. This list also shows the order of purchase:
- Yamaha BB-VII (circa 1985)
- Ibanez MC-924 (circa 1984)
- Steinberger XP2 (1987)
- Ibanez SDGR 1000 (1991)
- Fender Jazz Bass American Standard 5 string (1999)
- Cavalier upright bass (2015)
- Tune TWX 5 (2004)
- Fender Marcus Miller 4 string (2006)

back to the future.... back to two like the poor kid bassist I started as, both J's, one 4 ( Fender Aerodyne) , one 5 ( custom Lakland JO5) . I see we're a minority!

As humans, we never seem to be satisfied .... I have quite a few more then 2 ;) but quite often I think about selling all of them except my favorite fretted and my favorite fretless. The problem is it's almost impossible to pick "the favorites" ... sort of like when you have kids :woot:

My basses tend to come and go due to impulse craigslist buys, trades, etc. Really happy with a couple of recent scores..

1. 1984 Ibanez Musician MC888 "Bean"
2. Ibanez BTB670

So these guys will probably go soon..
3. Yamaha BBG4S II
4. LTD B-105 5-string
5. 1970s Pan (Aria?) SG copy
