My new #5 is working out great. GS Custom with maple/sapele thru neck. 30.5" scale. Asymetrical-V neck profile. Cypress chambered body wings. Cuban mahogany fretboard. Duncan Rickenbacker neck pickup. Gotoh tuners and bridge. Bourne pot. Levy strap. 5 pounds 8 ounces light! Great tone!

I just pulled the trigger on number 8 yesterday. A Fodera Emperor 6 string. I genuinely want to sell a few but when I look at them I honestly can’t decide which ones to sell. So instead of selling, I bought another one.

One became available again and I showed her and she said get it, get it . As most know it will be unique, because that is what drives our buying criteria. I have 5 that I use on a regular basis. All GS Custom 30.5" scale with asymetrical V neck shape. All with Gotoh bridge and tuners. All nitro lacquer. All are through neck with Daddario Chrone Flats. Main difference is in pickups. A PJ downtuned to Eb for Stevie Ray. A Pbass pickup for the Motown tone, a Duncan Tele single coil for ZZTop, a Duncan Ricky pickup for the Ricky tone, a fretless with a super-black ebony board and fender jazz neck pickup. The next build will be a rosewood board, maple neck jazz bass for the LedZep tone. I generally use rock maple, sapele, Florida cypress. I either make my own fretboards or buy them from Luthiers Mercantile. Can't get enough! Celebrate the Low Life!

- Frankenbass # 2: Gibson SG body, 2 mini-humbuckers (came off from a Hofner beatle bass), Fender scale neck (it has a bridge extensor to compensate for the scale, the neck is set, not bolt-on)
- Frankenbass # 3: Squier J body, P-neck with a brass nut, DS pickups, DiMarzio pots
- Slick SLPB bass (that one I just bought, still hasn't arrived, I just love the look)

the half bass is a Jazz neck a friend of mine who is a luthier gave me as a gift. It is a maple neck, ebony fingerboard. It has some frets on it, but I'm gonna remove it and make it fretless, as it is ebony after all. Will to that as soon as I get a new body and electronics for it (gonna be a fretless precision... or maybe a jazz body with precision pickups, haven't decided yet)
