You're going to love that MUB. My G5 has supplanted almost all my other basses (except when I need the NG-2 for low-tuned metal/doom) and I will be significantly thinning the herd when I get a four-string from him.

Little status update from my room: traded my Ibanez SR506 for a fretless Fame Baphomet... really fun to play, sounds great! Now i gotta work on that intonation... but i am still at three basses!

Well, I love em all.
P bass with flats for that classic, vintage thump. I mostly use it live with my classic rock band / Led Zep tribute.

Stingray (old 3 bander) for funk, rock, punk, anything really, and my RHCP tribute band.

I used those 2 basses for years now.

G&L is a new addition as I wanted to finally try the final Leo iteration. And It’s awesome - tones galore. Deep, throaty, versatile. I had tons of fun playing some Tool today. I’m finding use for pretty much every combination of tones it has. I’ll likely try it out at a band practice this weekend.

All three are just different flavors of awesome to me.

I owned 125 basses but am back to basics.

After 37 years of playing I realize that I actually only need 1.

Not sure which one though..

Well....I'm down to one single bass. The race from "1 - 125 - 1" took 37+ years.

Ken Smith/Tobias/Lull/Fender/Rickenbacker/Yamaha/Fodera/Musicman/Fender/Sadowsky/G&L/Status - the list goes on and on and on. Seen, owned and played it all.

My conquest, or compulsive disorder if you like, finding and owning the best basses out there came finally to an end.
Ironically I ended up with arguably the most common bass (including the color and pickguard) ever.

It's the one.

There is a lesson in this for some of us! Beautiful looking P bass, just the right amount of wear.

This one just sounds better to my ears.

I'm down to 2. A wonderful Fender PJ that is my do it all and a 5 string when I need a 5er. I'd go down to one if I could but I dont see myself being happy playing a 5 stringer everywhere. The older I get the more minimalist I seem to get. When I was a young guitar player I had one of everything. Now in the guitar realm I'm down to just 1 very nice Gibson LP Custom.
