How many basses do you own? (Currently) Part 2

Three. Specifically chosen to cover as much ground as possible (within my own tastes and limitations).

An active 5-string rock monster, a P bass with flats for classic tones, and a fretless for those mellow moments

If I owned any more, one of them would inevitably start collecting dust. If I were to increase my collection to four, the new arrival would have to be so radically different that it wouldn't affect my enjoyment of ly current three. Maybe something like an electric upright?

Yea. I've been doing alot of little things to it to get it where I like it, including adding tapewounds. I'll likely be replacing the pick guard, too, as this one doesn't quite fit right.

Yes. I've always preferred that. However, I am slowly expanding my tastes and experimenting with different sounds. For instance, this is my first p-j, and also my first active bass, and I'm having fun exploring.

11. 2 T-birds. One Tobacco, one white neckthru. Can't decide which one I like better. Quite a variety of others. A basic Fender P with flats and Seymore Duncan pickups (my main gig bass). Peavey T-40. Squire Tele-bass re-issue with HUGE mojo! Hohner B2A w/drop D bridge. Electric upright. Michael Kelly Dragonfly, but in blond (only one I've ever seen). Squire Bass VI (Still working on that one to get it into playing shape). '74 P-Bass. It's kind of amazing how the collection has grown.

Hey y'all!
Due to financial issues, I was down to zero playable basses for the last three months.. This Jim Harley Pbass copy was given to me by a couple of friends after it had sat in a garage for 10+ years. Metal parts were rusty, pots were scratchy, the pickguard would come off everytime U'd pull the jack out...
It's made of reayy poopy soft wood (or plywood) and the screws were just spinnin' in there like there was nowhere to cling to lol...
Anyway, this is the bass before:

And this is the bass now:

Guyker bridge with brass saddles, Squier CV tuning machines, Harley Benton strap pins & knobs, MusicLily CTS 500k pots, Ancable input jack, Sprague Orange Drop capacitor (0.047uF), cloth covered wiring & D'Addario Nylon Tapewound strings.
This will have to do until i get smthg better.. Hopefully soon...

At this point in my career ( mostly retired ) I keep just two nowadays....one in standard tuning, one tuned half-step down. I play the hell outta these two and would really only add a fretless, if anything

I am back to 2 basses! That cheap Jim Harley Pbass mentioned in post #5309 aaaaand a 2019 Cort B4FL Plus AS that i put the Tapewounds from the Precision on. Sounds amazing, feels amazing & i was expecting worse from the pick-ups given the hatred Bartolini MK1s get around here, but i actually love the sounds they make...

Lol, I just shot Diet Pepsi out my nose. I thought I was Bass Hogg of Hartke County when I ordered my second bass after finding out the first one was going to be a few weeks. I’m definitely in the right place.

I just went from 10 to 11, though I now have 5. Sort of. I just gave one to my wife as she wants me to give her lessons. So do I own 4? And if in marriage what's mine is hers and what's hers is hers, I guess she should be posting here not me.
