Not sure how many times I have voted/changed my vote here. For a couple decades I had just the Jazz and Ric you see here. Then about 13 years ago I got the the fretless P, and in recent years its kinda been my "go to" bass. Then this summer I grabbed the '54"ish" parts SCPB and gigged with it a bunch, lots of fun and a nice rude tone! And a few weeks ago I nabbed the Ibanez acoustic just for the hell of it (it was only $150 used). So this is the "collection" as it stands now. Kinda on the hunt for a 70s era Stingray now.......

This is a fun thread to check out what everyone’s tastes runs towards. We all have personal details that appeal to us when choosing instruments, cool to see that.

I do agree this is fun to see everyone's likes. For me, I like neck-thru, 4-strings, wood colored (no paint) and active electronics but that is my personal taste. Personally, I believe you can play 99% of all bass parts with any bass. I mean, Paul still plays that Höfner 500/1 hollow body which I'm guessing that was considered a low-end bass in the '60 (Please no hate. Just my opinion).

Fender Player Precision: the gigging workhorse! Rock solid tuning, sounds good on anything!

Sire P7: My 2025 impulse buy #1! This is the bass I reach for when practicing at home! It's a delight!

Musicman USA SUB: My 2025 impulse buy #2! I have always wanted a Stingray, now I do! Maybe the best of the three honestly!

Dis you mis-spell seven or am i really bad at counting?

I am up to 3!
- Squier Affinity Jaguar H Black: so humbucker, 32", maple fretboard, D'Addario Chrome flatwound strings.
- Fazley Sunset Series Piranha Sky Blue: split coil, 34", "roasted maple" fretboard (but might really be just a stain on the whole neck), D'Addario Nylon Tapewound strings.
- Squier CV Mustang Olympic White: split coil mustang pick-up, 30", Indian laurel fretboard, Labella 760F-MUSflatwound strings.

What they have in common:
- all FSOs (not by design, just happened that way, beggars can't be choosers),
- one pick-up,
- two knobs,

Here is lucky number 13, he sounds perfectly awesome as he is, currently has rounds which I will be switching to flats and I am consideing replacing the bridge for safety. I've seen the metal in these 40+ year bridges fail unpredictably (Aria bridges are notorious for this) and I know these basses can take fender-type bridges standard or himass very easily. The electronics are fine, this has the best E string of any P bass I've ever played, period.
