I don’t really believe you won’t buy another Dingwall or three eventually. But I can see why that was the last one standing, it’s definitely my favorite out of your basses I’ve played.

I added #18 last night. This is a parts build that I have been working on for a couple of months. Had some hiccups and pitfalls with getting a good neck, but finally got this one last night. I really loved the Squier Classic Vibe 70's Precision Basses, but felt very 'meh' about the three color offerings (Walnut, Black, Surf Green). I had seen a picture of a Fender 70's Precision that I felt was completely eye popping with an Olympic White body and that bound and blocked neck, so when I realized that Squier CV 60s Precisions offered and Olympic White body, I decided to just build it. So here we have it. a CV 60s body with a CV 70s Jazz neck. Pickup is a DiMarzio DP122.

Now 26 !! Plus have parts for at least 2 more basses once I decide on which parts to assemble.

Gifted from a friend a Invalid Link Removed going to set it up as a "slapper" to go with my fretless jazz on gigs. This 8.38 pound beauty has a nicely flamed neck for a cool plus. Fret ends are a bit sharp but that is easily remedied. Deciding whether to stay with stock pickups, switch them out or go with a preamp. Decisions decisions.

I've worked in instrument retail and repair for decades, having owned, bought and sold countless basses and guitars over the years and always pleasantly surprised at the quality of affordable instruments that can be tuned into wonderful sounding and playing instruments. This bass is no exception, you can have you high dollar instruments if that's your thing, I'll keep loving and playing my affordable misfits.

glarry all - ibanez pj clone, precision clone, jb clone] - i can make them all sound good after setup.

sold my american precision at a good profit before moving cross country along with selling traynor yba 1 and trayor 2x15 - all paid me back handsomely after using for quite a whille. my gig rig was acoustic 150 guitar head, guild thunder bass 2x15 cab with 2 altec 421a replaced speakers. - surprisingly effective for clubs.

the best story is the gibson eb3 violin head bass that i GAVE to my brother and when i asked him recently what happened to it (was worth 4-5k at the time) he said "i gave that back to you" (he didnt) i heard " i dont want to tell you what i did with it because it was incredibly stupid" thanks bro.

I have four, currently. A Cassidy, MIM Jazz (gutted the electronics and replaced it all with '62 reissue), one of the screwy Dan Armstrong Alexis from Asia, and an Ashbory.

I don't have G.A.S. (or B.A S.?) but I like beung able to tailor the bass to the gig. At one time I had 12... I miss those days.

I have wanted one of those in fretless zebrawood finish but i never see them second hand for a realistic price.. still have GAS though..
