How many basses do you own? (Currently) Part 2

Yeah I hear ya. Down to around 26 basses now, it seems at one point I had enuff gear to open my own Bass shop. But back then, I wasn't looking to sell anything. I can see myself now...@ 50 basses hanging on the walls, people come in, and all I say is No, that's not for sale, don't touch that one....Put that down, No that's not for sale....

I'm looking to build a cabin somewhere out west. The plan is to liquidate gear and belongings over time, acquire a Prevost Bus, cruise around out west in search for the perfect plot of land. Start a Log Cabin build while living in the Bus, when cabin's done, move in. That's the plan. We'll see if it comes to fruition. I'll keep a few guitars at that point.

Wow, that sounds like a plan! Love to do something like that. Unfortunately I'm poor...

I notice that some recent polls give the option of changing your vote. I don't know if that option was available 27 months ago when this thread was started, or if the option can be added now.

In any case, my answer to this poll has changed a few times and it's the one poll where the "change option" would be particularly useful. (At least to me.) I'm guessing that I'm not the only one.

Steinberger stick basses are an 80s fad I never got into. I know they're very good quality, but I never could get into that style. I like having something to hide behind, personally.

I have 2 my fav is my old faithful 1990 mint Ibanez SR1000 made in Japan, and I have a SX with the Fender style head vintage series Fretless P bass loaded with SD SPD-3 pickups.

I sold most of my gear I wasn't using and am down to only the gear I need to gig.

I have two basses. A Schecter Studio 5 in black satin and another in honey satin for my backup.

I also am down to two cabs, a head and I'm shopping for a backup head.

I can't tell you how great it feels to be free of all the gear taking up room in my house. Now I focus on making music and the gear is just the tool I use to make it. Nothing more, nothing less.

The recent demise of Fender Japan has had me whipping out the old credit card several times over the past 2 weeks. Basically pulling the trigger on all the unique MIJ Jazz Bass models and colors I had on my ultimate GAS Bucket List. Hadn't really planned to drop so much cash right now on even more guitars, but as we all know, its now or never in terms of ever being able to buy any of these now discontinued gems for a decent price!

I saved one of the best for last, and held out for one of the nicest looking grain patterns I have seen on this model... (The attached photos are stock...Don't have any photos of my actual purchase "yet".

Of course, I am referring to Fender Japan's popular and soon to be a classic collectible...
