Since I posted last July, my line-up has changed considerably. Mainly, I've replaced two Jazz Basses and the added a 5er, a T-40, and a "practice bass". All are strung with R. Cocco Nickel Roundwounds, except the fretless and the Precision, which wear D'Addario Chromes.

𝄢 1980 Rickenbacker 4001 - Jetglo/White with rosewood (bubinga) fretboard. Fitted with BadAss II bridge. This one's going into the mausoleum with me.

𝄢 2005 Fender Standard Jazz Bass V - Midnight Wine/White with rosewood fretboard. Fitted with an Audere JZ3-VB-3B preamp. Beat out an Ibanez BTB455 I bought at the same time and A/B'd. The Ibby looked and sounded awesome, but the 7/8" thin neck and 19.5" radius were the dealbreaker.

𝄢 2008 Fender '70s Classic Jazz Bass - 3-Tone Sunburst/Black with rosewood fretboard (bound and blocked). Fitted with BadAss II bridge. Replaced my 2006 Fender Highway One Jazz Bass. I love the chunkier neck. Currently my main squeeze.

𝄢 2003 Fender Standard Precision Bass - Black/Black with rosewood fretboard. Fitted with Gotoh 201 bridge. This is Grand Theft Precision. $100 on Craigslist.

𝄢 2006 Fender Standard Jazz Bass Fretless (60th Anniversary) - Midnight Wine/Black with rosewood fingerboard. Fitted with Gotoh 201 bridge (thanks Mongo2!). Replaced my 2007 Fender Squier Modified Vintage Jazz Fretless. I wish I was a better fretless player.

𝄢 1980 Peavey T-40 Sienna Sunburst with rosewood fretboard. Recently relocated from my G.A.S. list. I sold my 1979 natural T-40 when I was 14 to help fund the Ric purchase. Been regretting that until a few months ago, when I found this gem on Craigslist.

𝄢 1999 Squier P-Bass - Black/White with rosewood fretboard (not shown, I keep it at the firehouse). Recently converted it to a "Tony Franklin-style" PJ bass. Just got sick of lugging my Fenders to work every day and wanted something to harmlessly tinker with.

I'm hoping my next update includes a Lakland USA Duck.

I play out of two locations about 100 miles apart and don't like hauling them back and forth, so I don't consider this too extreme. :cool: The Stingray, Fenders and Upton plywood are my rock/country/bluegrass/blues array in the country, with the Ibanez A/E as a practice bass, and the Upton hybrid and Veillette fretless 5 are my basses for jazz in the city, with the Fender A/E for practice.

Well, after the downsizing :

3 basses, my criteria : I need a passive, an active , a 4 string , a 5 string and a fretless.

So , my basses are :

1 - Fender Jazz Bass Geddy Lee Model ;
2 - Ernie Ball Music Man StringRay 5 HH Model ;
3 - Cort B4FL unlined fretless bass.

So I cover all my needs (some way) : Passive (old school) , Active(modern) , Single Coils (cutting mids) , Humbuckers (dark , heavy lows) & fretless (mwhaaaa) .
