How many frets does your bass have?

My main gigging bass, an Ovation Magnum, has 20. It's frustrating, as I find myself going for that high E all the time, and it's never there...

bend the d# up to it.

I've got to fivers Ibanez SR and a cheapo), both with 24 frets. On four string fretless that used to have 24 frets, a Cort fiver that has 22 frets, and a Squier Jazz bass V with 20.

I hate that traditional fenders only go up to high D#/Eb. I have two 21s, and a 22. I feel the high e is a necessity, but anything higher isn't truly necessary. Also, 24s make it hard to play Birdland

I only have 24 or 0 frets basses. I always hate less than 24 frets. It is always when you need it that you don't have it.

My Warwick Thumb NT has 26, so yes. But I never really go that high unless I'm just noodling, so no.

Except for a few fills and doublestops I rarely venture above the 12th fret though, but I do use most of the range below that.

Everything I play has either 22 or 24 frets.

I find I slap best on 22 fret 4 strings. Even tho i REALLY prefer 24 fret basses... its weird, i know.

This is exactly why Mike Pope's Viceroy has 4 removable frets.

24 on all my Spector NS basses. 21 on my Spector Coda 5XL.
