I almost bought one of these a few weeks ago with a bunch of cylinders.

Worked just like it was made the week before.

When I finally get a new car that might not have a CD player?

I better buy my new car soon, lol.
Better you should do so sooner than later. ;)

There is no cloud, really. The data’s just on somebody else’s servers.
Years ago a co-worker was in tears because something screwed up and she couldn't get to her cloud. I asked her if the cloud had dissipated. :D

I've been having some discussions about recording for the purposes of providing merchandise. Five out of five bandmates, when asked, said they have no way to listen to a CD. My sense is maybe that's true for most of us.

My husband still has a CD slot in his car, but that's the only way I'd be able to listen if I really wanted to.

How about you? Would you be able to listen to a CD if you bought it from a band you liked? Or would it just be a mercy-purchase for support, that you'd never be able to hear (I do lots of those).

I have a CD player connected to my computer for the sole purpose of downloading songs to my iPod when necessary. Yes, I still have an iPod too. I guess that make me new wave old school.

Yes I can. I got a c.d. Player at home, work, and in my car. That being said… I haven’t even bought a c.d. In years. In the rock n roll scene bands typically release records these days and you can listen to them on music platforms. I don’t think many people make c.d.’s anymore but i have gotten a few cassette tapes at shows as of late.

i voted "Yes - I can listen in my home"

i can listen to CDs/vinyl/cassettes via multiple hardware (pro-audio/studio and consumer) options, but i don't use them to listen to music these days: mostly to convert/rip, file, and store. except for xmastime CDs that my wife likes. :)
my computer(s) and/or the internet is the source for almost all of my listening experience.

Better than a plain old CD player, I still have 3 working Tascam CD recorders. One of them is set up in my studio for playing the occasional CD.
And I have the CD player in my 2014 SUV. But I am concerned that my next one (a newer version of the one I have now) won't have a CD player in it.
And a cassette player, a 1/4" tape machine, and a mini-disc player/recorder that I haven't pulled out in several years. I need to see if it still works. And if I have any mini-discs around to try it.

CD players in cars are no longer standard equipment, as they want you to subscribe to xm radio or use your cellular bandwidth.

I have a 5-disc changer in my vehicle... a boombox with a CD player in my kitchen... and my Mac has an external Superdrive.

As much as I love CDs, I listen to most of my music over Sirius in my vehicle or via Apple Music (from tunes I've uploaded) at home.

I have a conventional recent desktop PC with a CD/DVD drive. I have tons of old DVD movies and instructional videos I'm not ready to trash. I NEVER listen to CDs, but I could. If I wanted to. But I won't.

And I certainly don't buy them off merch tables....my wife buys me T-shirts I never wear, though. I don't wear Zep or AC/DC Tees, or Miles or Coltrane Tees, so I'm dam sure not gonna wear a Ferd and the Tulips Tee. I'm not even sure what happened to my last band's T-shirts I had.... It's okay, support the band, but I'd just as soon drop the money in the jar (and ALWAYS do!!; usually both).

But no CD.

I have a good CD player in my stereo system.
Turntable, CD player, amp, preamp, floor standing speakers ...just like in the old days.
Still have about a 1000 to 1500 CD's.
Still have several hundred LP's that I could never get on CD.
Also, lots of music on the hard drive of my laptop that I can send to my stereo system via bluetooth.
And an Amazon Music subscription.
