How many Instruments Do You Play And How Well?

Bass: The better I get, the less I feel able to classify my skill level. I call myself semi-pro; my originals band is turning a profit, and I'm trying to get a wedding band really going after a few good gigs. I also receive more than just friendly compliments from other bassists and musicians. So I must be at least middling.

Trombone: Used to be quite good in an orchestral setting. I could even sight read, but lost it after years of not using it. I bet I'd have a good ear for trombone if I picked one up. Man, I gotta go look at used trombone prices....

Guitar: You need barre chords at tempos from ballad all the way up to speed metal? I'm your man! You need finger picking or intricate lead lines, or anything based around open chords? I am NOT your man. I've played rhythm live, no problem. I even throw in some Chuck Berry riffs when appropriate.

Drums: I'm working on it! I can handle your average AC/DC song, but if it's not in 4/4 I get lost almost immediately. I'm better at double bass than my main drummer, but he's an utter stud at anything else. So, I'm still better than Meg White. Does that make me pro-level? :ninja: I hope to be at a giggable level with drums in a few months.

Keyboards: Bloody awful. I have a decent keyboard in my jam/practice room, and I play around with it once in a while, and I make myself depressed with how awful I am.

Vocals: Good. More than comfortable enough to sing popular songs acapella impromtu in front of a crowd and not fear laughter or mockery. So I must be good. For a while, I even considered myself more of a singer who played bass. Now I'm usually too busy playing to sing. :bassist:

Cowbell: I learned from the master, Gene Frenkle. I'll bury anyone in a Battle of the 'Bells.

Bass -- Well enough to play professionally most of my life
Trombone -- above average
Vocals -- high tenor. Good at hearing & singing harmonies
Euphonium -- not bad with practice
Tuba -- OK with practice
Keyboards -- chords, and only if right hand has no more than four notes because I don't practice. And don't ask me to read anything.
Guitar -- only certain chords and then only if they don't change that quickly
Trumpet -- only in the staff, and then only with practice
French horn -- kinda
Alto horn -- kinda worse than French horn
woodwinds -- Can get a sound and play a scale if you warn me a week ahead of time
Drums -- I can keep a beat on a set but my right hand tends to want to do whatever my right foot is doing and vice versa. In other words, I have no independence

Bass - My best instrument
Upright Bass - I played this in my high schools highest band for 3 years if that says anything.
Guitar - I can play a mean rhythm. Lead? Not so much, unless you want more melodic licks.
Bass, Bari, Tenor, and Alto Sax - I`m at a pretty high reading level, but I`ve never played them outside of concert band settings. Probably should try it sometime!
Clarinet - Not as good as the sax, but I can definitely pass for concert bands.
Piano - Not going to lie, I really suck at it! But I plan on taking lessons to get better.
Drums - Good enough to carry a beat and get ideas across. Probably couldn`t gig them unless we were doing AC/DC songs though.
Harmonica - Not bad. Could use at gigs if I wanted to, although it`d be fairly easy stuff.

i can play good in piano or keyboard..
i was gone through piano lesson before..
guitar a bit, i know some of the chords, i really love to play guitar but guitars don't even like me.. hahaha :D
i love to know how to play drums and planning to under go a drum lesson.. :p

I'm glad this thread came back to life. I have a new instrument in my repertoire!

Tambourine: An underrated instrument. Play it wrong and you'll sink a song. I'm better at tambourine than my drummer, and I can knock out some wicked funky beats.

Bass - pretty well for my age
Drums - havent in years, but everytime I sit down I feel at home. I can keep it groovy, and I just got my kit back so Ill be improving... I hope! :D

Learning at the moment:

Guitar
Piano

bass - main instruments, can play most rock/pop music, cant play over technical/ fast stuff
acoustic guitar - finger style nylon string guitar player, can play a bit grade 2-3 level
keyboard and drums - a couple of months of tinkering around, cant hold tempo and play a song straight yet

bass - probably the best
upright - decent, but haven't practiced in a while
trombone - been years, but i was ok
piano - good if i take the time to learn something
pipe organ - ugh.
ukulele - decent
guitar - i play it like a bass

Synth/Keyboards/Piano - Been doing this the longest, it's what I'm best at.
Bass - Second longest, it's what I'm second-best at and it's definitely my favourite instrument =D
Drums - I can lay down a beat, but then again, so can a drum machine.
Guitar - Does Guitar Hero count?
