One straight P, and a PJ as well. The P with D’Addario XLs is my go-to, but I enjoy all of my basses.

Hi Judeix808! I've been following you for a while now and have to admit that I am a little disappointed in you because you left the Warwick camp for the fender camp. You're 2 p-basses are so caveman that it hasn't evolved significantly a whole bunch since 57'. I own only one p-bass, and please slap me over the head if I ever decide to part ways with it

I have just one right now, a Killer B Guitars Custom Shop P bass. Last year I briefly bought 2 MIA Fender Precision basses brand new but hated the feeling of whatever was coated on the necks. In my 30 plus years of playing, I had never owned a Precision bass so I had Killer B build me one. I then had them put in the bass some Nordstrand NP4a pickups in it. I absolutely love the bass. I’m a diehard Nordstrand guy and the neck is completely unfinished so it feels a ton better.
I have one straight "P" Bass but I have three "P/J" basses
the straight "P" bass I call Fanboy as it started out life as a Dee Dee Ramone tribute, I then put a Geddy Bound and blocked Neck on the Dee Dee Body and then added a Geeezer Butler pickup....hence Fanboy
Lakland "P/J" 44-64
Fender "P/J" though it also started life as a standard "P" upgraded to a set of Bill Lawrence pups

so that comes to 5

I completely agree - it is a fantastic bass and the neck is amazing. I tried it against quite a few others when i bought it last year. The love for these basses is completely justified but I felt that i was looking for something else in the sound when i gigged it and as it was a luxury item i decided to move it on.
And then i tried a Roadworn in a shop and it had the sound that i was missing (and i really got on with the bigger neck) so i started having a quiet look about for a used one with a view to grabbing one possibly at the right money. For a luxury 3rd bass they were a bit to pricey to justify at +£700 over here and the Classic Lacquer popped up at a very good price so i went for it. Its a DIY Roadworn effectively - it has some dings already and by the time i've put 50 gigs into it it will be well on its way.......

Ever think about offloading the Freeman pickup? Or has that already happened?Squier Matt Freeman with an Aguilar AG-4P-60 pickup strung with Chromes. Thinking about switching to TIs next restringing.
And an MIM Fender with a Klein 62 Epic pickup and currently strung with GHS Pressurewounds but which will soon be tried with LaBella Copper White Nylons.
(I've got very definite ideas about how I want my PBs to sound.)
I still have it. I kept the original pickups, pickguard and wiring harness completely intact. I only disconnected the bridge and cavity ground wires when I removed it.
I did briefly consider unloading the parts. But then I figured if I ever decided to sell the bass at some point, it’d be far more interesting to a buyer if it were restored to its original state. Right now it’s just another good but modded Pbass. However, if the original guts were put back in, it would once again be a Squier Matt Freeman.
Most times I do a mod I try to make sure it’s completely reversible. And Fender/Squier makes that easy to do.
It’s since gotten a set of LaBella Copper White Nylons a gold anodized pickguard. Doesn’t look much like it originally did. But I think it turned out pretty nice.

Looking Good! I'v been tossing up whether to go tort or gold on my MF. The gold looks pretty classic eh
would really like one of these... one I'd be actually be worried about dinging though
My wife has an assortment of sparkle nail polishes, so touch-ups are easy.
My old red sparkle Stingray had a ding or two that were undetectable.
Sparkle finishes hide fingerprints & dings very nicely.
