I'm very bad.....

Only pedal i used frequently in recent years... ebs comp.

Pedals i own (only listing those i would use in bass) and occasionally use depending on needs or boredom:

Onerr wah
Onerr distortion
Behringer wah (self modded... actually works ok on bass)
Morley mini volume (not particularly mini... big old opto active pedal)
Peavey volume (passive)
Zoom B1xOn
Zoom B2
Zoom A2
Zoom G1X
Dan-echo pseudo analog bucket brigade echo
Daddy-O OD
Digitech Bad Monkey OD
Line-6 HD500X amp modelling/ multi fx modelling/ vocal fx
Roland GR-55 synth/amp and instrument modeling/multi fx modeling
Rocktron Banshee Talk Box
Behringer bdi-21
Behringer active di

Rack fx (2 multifx reverb delay units... niiice older ones, forget details right now, alto stereo digital comp (nearly never used any more)

Currently for pitch/time/modulation etc i use modelling when needed or do it in post in studio.

This collection is nothing compared to the old days....

Also somewhere i have a boss chorus, ibanez flanger, ibanez distortion.... all without cases (because i was young n dumb)....

And im sure im missing some.... this is from memory

I have only 4: a Boss Limiter, Behringer vintage phaser, Boss graphic equalizer (not technically an effect pedal) and an old Qtron. Never had the urge to have anything more than that. I have looked at those multi effect boxes in the past, but those effects I heard were kinda 'digital' sounding. And I don't really want to have a big row of pedals setup, at most I use 2 effects at a time.

I have loads of pedals but they are mostly used on guitar. For bass, after quite a bit of dicking around, I tend to stick to just my Spectracomp and my Dr J Sparrow. I occasionally throw another OD or fuzz on but I don’t do modulations or similar because I just like the power of a big, dirty bass. Guitar, whole other thing.

When I converted an ESP LTD F Junior guitar into a sub scale bass because it had a "metal" look, I bought a Behringer SF300 Super Fuzz if I ever had an occasion to go there, I never have and haven't even opened the box (do I even look "metal"). I was also given a Boss AB-2 by a member of my uke group and again never had a need to use it. So I voted 2, but I also think there should a 0 choice because even though I own 2, I don't ever use any. (But I do like the bass a lot.)

I would report you for trolling but posting that photo of the atrocious behavior done to that innocent instrument is a much higher crime. Don't move - Proper Authorities are EnRoute.

Utility stuff: Tuner, Wireless receiver (Boss WL50 so it's pedal-shaped and on the pedalboard)
Sound stuff: Compressor, Preamp, Filter, OD, Fuzz, usually a modulation pedal like a Phaser or Chorus, and an Octaver

so 7-9 is my typical pedal count. Sometimes I have several fuzzes, but I always try to pare back to one of each effect type. For gigs, though, I've never needed more than clean, dirty, and swirly.

At last count, the mid 20's- probably into the 30's by now. I have multiple overdrives/distortions and fuzzes, and multiple reverbs/delays, a couple of modulation things, a few different pitch shifters and some utility stuff. I've never owned a compressor or an EQ though. It actually never seems like that much until I have them in one place- I probably have had 10 at max on a board at once, including a tuner.

I wouldn't say I'm a collector or addicted (although I certainly did go through a phase of that), I just like having options. I don't really understand the bass>cable>amp only mindset, it just seems... boring.

I have 100+ pedals and I’m a collector. I really love to sit down and fiddle around, it makes me play for hours just to tweak and try new stuff. It makes me play in a different way, my whole approach to bass becomes something new and interesting.

I love preamps and OD/distortion but I just counted and I have like 10 compressors and 1 on the way.
Origin Effects Cali76-TX and CB, FEA Labs DB-CL and DE-CL, Markbass Compressore, Lehle/RMI Basswitch Dual Band compressor, Diamond Bass compressor, Fairfield Circuitry the Accountant, DOD Millbox and TC Electronic SpectraComp. And a Becos CompIQ Stella on the way. I’m addicted.

And a lot of these threads in here makes me wanna spend a lot more than I can afford. My wish list keeps on growing and I actually don’t mind.

Thanks TalkBass and everyone that contributes!
