Twice. First marriage was essentially over after 10 years but stuck it out 17 for the kids. Got it right the second time around. 21+ years. She bought me my first 5 string while we were still dating. How could I go wrong?
married at 18, separated at 21. married at 25, divorced at 25. became a couple with my sweetie when i was 42, married at 48, am now 60.
First time 2o years (betrothed at 20 yoa - what a f'ing dummy I was). Nil positive save two awesome children (who I raised as a single dad - best thing I could have ever imagined) 2nd time 15 years. I was no smarter the second time, but stumbled into something that, though difficult and challenging (mixed family = tough), is fulfilling deep to the heart. Happy I pushed through the fear and uncertainty. Weren't right and need to be fixed. To those 'one and done' - I am envious and happy for you. I wish that for my children.
She's the one that came up with the name. You should meet the rest of the family. There's Bearbait , Jailbait (my daughters) Gatorbait (my son) and Dingdong (the blond.)
This seems the PERFECT thread to let y'all know that @Chicory Blue and I are getting married. This is gonna be number three for me, and if you follow TB OT you know how I lucked out with the smartest, funniest girl ever. My family are all really excited, too, I've told them all about @Chicory Blue and my Mom says this is the best I will ever do, surely. You don't need to tell me I'm marrying up -- I got the memo! One slight disclaimer, I haven't actually asked @Chicory Blue yet but was planning to do so at dinner tonight, so ya'll wish me luck! Maybe I'll start a thread to report on how stunned she was!
Instead of a ring, I was gonna show her this when I pop the Q. Lemme know what you think, yous guys. Not pictured, so-sweet TV trays I found on ebay, they are tort {}
My father-in-law referred to me as the white sheep of the family. He also reffered to me as "My buddy."We were very close, I loved that man, he passed about 10 years ago. His kids called him Papa but I couldn't bring myself to call him that. One day the name Papalooseky came out of my mouth and that is what I called him from then on. The name stuck and other family members started calling him that.
Yeah, I think it is great and really excited about our new life together in New Orleans. Just hope she doesn't have some boyfriend lurking around when I get there, that's always a bummer
Be positive! Ruminating about stuff like that kill the deal. Be the person that she loves all the time. Good luck!
@Son of Wobble and @Chicory Blue , Congratulations! I've a shed in my back garden you two are more than welcome to for your honeymoon. I can throw in a double-sized sleeping bag and provide coffee and croissants for breakfast.
Thank you so much, @Oddly ! I am tempted to tell you all where where are registered, but I think it is against the TB rules, and i want to remain a cough musician's friend cough dot com {}
