A call the right law enforcement agencies would sort that out no? Fraud is fraud and imo dealing with the legalities is best left to the pros. Besides I'm aware of a number of cases just like this over the years, mostly in pro audio, where the dirt bag was indeed visited by the local cops despite the victim living in another state. And like I said, my guess is the cops already know who this moron is anyway.
