Trust yourself. (except on that "2.5%" figure. Is "3.4%" considered "almost"?) Oh well...forget it, it's nothing (unless you're into exactly correct figures, but not that many people are so I wouldn't even worry about it or say stuff in your head like "oh, was it 3.4% that I read?" Don't even go there on that - it's just an idiosyncrasy of MINE. Also I had to look up the word "palpable" from this thread. I see that as a plus. Can you tell I was just at Starbucks and everybody was buying? Wow.

Anyway congrats again! Don't listen to negative stuff (unless it's coming from me, in which case you would still have to take each thing I say case by case and of course, all of it with a grain of salt. Can you tell I was just at Starbucks?)

Who brought up religion? Here's a small sampler...

going to the same church for us is great, just like it would be for anyone else who found a boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse of their same religion. it's just nice to share that same reality. it makes raising a family easier, no questions as to what religion to raise the child. i came from a religiously divided family, my mom is catholic and my dad is lutheran. i see where they had problems and i'm glad i won't have those same ones.

it's nice having the same values and the same way of solving problems. we can go to the chaplain for spiritual guidance that is keeping with both our ideas. and we can embark on our religious journey to spiritual freedom together.

i have always admired my friends who have their whole families involved in their church, whichever denomination it is whether it be catholic or lutheran or methodist or buddhist or jewish. it seemed like a wonderful way to enjoy fellowship as a family and also to raise children with the values of the church. now i am very happy to be doing the same, and while that wasn't the whole reason why i love him, it is a part of it. mostly i love him for his personality, his ambitions, his music, his values and his sense of humor. he can definitely enjoy a good fart joke!

It's funny to hear people say you can't know someone nor predict their behavior. The cool thing is you CAN. You CAN know someone if you care to really look at who they are...all the indications are there from the first moment you meet...

Before I met this guy I did what we call at our Church an Admin Scale. You basically put down everything you want in a significant other, being as specific as possible and also including hopes and goals for the future. Your Ideal Mate. He had done one too. When we met and had the Instant Connection we later compared Admin Scales...

Beyond a spiritual connection we share the exact same goals in life. Both of us want to open a gymnastics/martial arts gym--it was on both of our admin scales... And of course we are both Scientologists,...

Soooo, along with the flush of love and the whirlwind of romance there is something substantial behind this relationship. I'm sure I am not the first person to be lucky enough to find That Person and recognize them instantly. And I'm sure I am not the last...

Yes, yes you can figure people out instantly. There is a technique to it which I am not perfect at. I've taken some low-level courses on it and drilled it in real life. There are several points you look at, and there is a technique to engaging the person in conversation. It'll tell you all you need to know about a person and you can accurately predict their behavior. The truly fascinating thing about it is it is correct 100% of the time. Even when I've come across with results and I'm like "no, that can't be" the person will eventually do something that is keeping with the original prediction. People are indeed predictable, if you know what to look for.

It's not a gift. Anyone could learn if they so desired. It is a skill, and takes practice as any other skill does.

I'm positive about my boyfriend's personality, and it seems to jive with what his long time friends say about him.

I didn't have the information on how to spot the right person before. I just finished the class a few weeks ago. I took the class BECAUSE I was having trouble figuring people out.

Some people want to cut others down to make themselves feel better. They want to stop other's success out of fear. Their lives aren't going well, no matter what they say or what kind of facade they put out. They love to stir up trouble between two people and then bow out so no one can detect the true cause. They always ACT like they're helping, but if you look close, it's not help. They make up about 2.5% of the population.

How does someone bring up topics like these ("admin scales," the predictability of human behavior, the percentage of people who "don't want to help," coming from a religiously divided family, Scientology itself, etc.) and not expect responses on these topics?

Again, disingenuous and - in my opinion, anyway - a violation of TB rules.

Happy for ya Dis. We all gotta meet someone sometime, and its different for all people when it happens. Just don't make any mistakes you might regret, but thats for you to worry about, and if you don't worry, than why should we?

hence my post about religion being off limits in OT. apparently you didn't read that, or read into it something that wasn't there. the main point is that you obviously did not -comprehend- it because you are still bringing up religion. i have yet to see anyone else mention religious material after my reminder except you.

Please re-read my post. I was not discussing religion, I was discussing TB rules, with examples from the current thread. Please clarify: Does that qualify as religious discussion?

if you see a post in violation of tb rules, i would personally prefer it (as would the rest of the mods and paul too) if you reported it instead of quoting it and discussing it in the forum. this way i can clean it up quietly and forego all this unnecessary stuff.
