I finally made up my mind about men!

Well, as posted in a previous thread, I have finally made up my mind about men! Hallelujah! Praise be! :hyper:

Now, eric618 is still my eHusband and my TB husband and he is still mega studtacular! :D

But I have met the love of my life. We met a week ago intending to have a jam session for an upcoming church event (he's a guitard). We ended up playing for about 30 minutes and talking for hours. He is everything I have been looking for and more!

Ya, we already dropped the L-bomb. I wouldn't say love at first sight, but maybe we love at first song as we really rocked out playing together. He'll be moving in soon (he has a kid from a previous marriage so there are some things to take care of first) and we'll move on from there.

I've never been happier or more sure of anything in my life! I'm sure there are those of you who knew within minutes or first few dates that you were dating The One!

So, amongst the swollen font threads and the torturous media news, here's a love story to really make you yack up your lunch!

:D :bassist:

:hmm:

Am I going to be the only one to say what a horrible idea this is? This is not a good decision. The potential for disaster is off the charts...

Bunch of good sensible stuff

...This is headed for drama-ville. Subscribed.

No, you're not. "Titanic" and "Pompeii" were the first two things that popped into my head upon reading the OP.

The man may be wonderful, but I really hope you two aren't moving in after only week.

It'll take a few months for that to happen.

I also know he's not psycho, being that he's been a member of my church longer than I have and many of my friends have known him for a long time.

People that know the two of us are excited because they think we are a great match.

Again, I say "heh". The church supports people moving in together before marriage. I'm not here to judge...just find that interesting.

ok dis all i'm saying is....many of us have had to put up with your daily psychotic ramblings about men and relationships....so just promise us if this blows up in your face you will give us full disclosure...you owe it to us. ok?

Thanks!!! :D:bassist:

My husband and I have been together for 15 years now. I met him on New Year's Eve. I let him move in roughly three months later. We've had our rough patches...*big* *gnarly* ones...but we got through them. It was, like you, "love at first sight/song". I knew he was my match the minute I met him.

Yes, these things can get bad. But I've seen people who knew each other for years either get married or move in together, and the whole thing went south faster than the Santa Fe freight. So...you just never know. If he's a good man, and you love each other and do right by each other, and do the hard work it takes to stay together for *anyone*, you'll be fine.

Cherie :hyper:

OK, this part makes the whole thing sound much better. I congratulate in your general direction.:)

going to the same church for us is great, just like it would be for anyone else who found a boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse of their same religion. it's just nice to share that same reality. it makes raising a family easier, no questions as to what religion to raise the child. i came from a religiously divided family, my mom is catholic and my dad is lutheran. i see where they had problems and i'm glad i won't have those same ones.

it's nice having the same values and the same way of solving problems. we can go to the chaplain for spiritual guidance that is keeping with both our ideas. and we can embark on our religious journey to spiritual freedom together.

i have always admired my friends who have their whole families involved in their church, whichever denomination it is whether it be catholic or lutheran or methodist or buddhist or jewish. it seemed like a wonderful way to enjoy fellowship as a family and also to raise children with the values of the church. now i am very happy to be doing the same, and while that wasn't the whole reason why i love him, it is a part of it. mostly i love him for his personality, his ambitions, his music, his values and his sense of humor. he can definitely enjoy a good fart joke!

Dis, this is great news! And a guitard? You'll never regret it (if he's really good). Is he?

Moving in together already? I'm telling your mom. That is wrong, but a very good idea. :D

Are you expected to be the "mom"? Are you ready for that?

I really hope this works out great - let us know when he's moved in (why is he moving in with you? Do you have a pepper spray gun?). :D

I feel like a concerned father. Utterly ridiculous.
