I finally made up my mind about men!

Dis, this is great news! And a guitard? You'll never regret it (if he's really good). Is he?

Moving in together already? I'm telling your mom. That is wrong, but a very good idea. :D

Are you expected to be the "mom"? Are you ready for that?

I really hope this works out great - let us know when he's moved in (why is he moving in with you? Do you have a pepper spray gun?). :D

I feel like a concerned father. Utterly ridiculous.

You are so funny!

mom and dad don't know he's moving in yet. i already got the lecture about dating musicians. don't you know they're all druggies? and they'll never make anything of themselves? and we'll end up living in some trailer park in missouri with refrigerators and tires in our front lawn! they'd rather i marry a pizza, because that at least can feed a family of four!

but, i know what i'm doing. and they can't complain since my mom was 19 when she got married and they got engaged within months of meeting. and i've dated enough duds recently to know when i have something special. :D

he's moving in with me because i own a condo and i'm not ready to sell it. as far as being a stepmom, it's probably going to be weird but i'm 32 and i've been teaching gymnastics for 18 years so i know kids. when we all hung out for the first time he was concerned because his daughter was a bit energetic. i said no problem, i can handle 10 like her at once plus get them all to do cartwheels and handstands! i've been wanting to be a mom for a long time, so a stepmom would be just fine with me! i'm ready for the rough patches along with the great times!

thanks for the happy post! :D

I'm with the guys here who think there's a possibility you might be jumpin the gun a bit on this one. I've been in many long term relationships and my experience is that regardless of what you think you know, you don't know jack about someone for at least three months, you only really get to know them once you move in together, and it takes at least 2 years (usually 3 for me) before you know if it's someone you can really get along with. That's about how long it takes for all the little petty annoyances to add up, and all the initial excitement and learning about each other to die out. Real friendship, love and compatability come after that - IMO anyhow.

Not saying he isn't the right guy, just saying I would proceed with a healthy amount of caution and not get carried away by the honeymoon phase of the relationship. While some people throw all abandon to the wind and it's all good, others pay a price for it. From what little I recollect I don't believe you have the greatest track record with men. You may want to proceed slowly with this one and perhaps do things differently than what feels natural to you.

You seem like an awesome woman and I really hope this works out for you. Not thinkin it won't either, just telling you the same thing I'd tell any friend who I saw getting all excited about someone after a week. :)

I'm guessing that I'll be the only one here to provide this particular perspective. I once dated a young woman for three weeks before letting her move in with me. We got married after knowing each other for nine weeks. I was 22, she was 19. Two years later our daughter was born and we argued about nearly everything because we had constant responsibilities instead of constant parties. After ten years of complaining about how we didn't agree on things she went away to pursue a different version of happiness and left me with our daughter.

The bottom line is:
- I lived with a woman for ten years who was addicted to sex and that worked out well for both of us. She voluntarily went away about the time I was starting to think the sex wasn't worth listening to her noises (when not having sex ) and I'm currently free to pursue other relationships as they come.
- Our daughter, who is now 14, now lives with me and all three of us are happy with this arrangement.
- I will have raised a child to adulthood by the time I'm in my early forties and still young enough to do pretty much anything I want.

I'm saying jump right in. Full speed ahead. Careful planning is usually over-rated. Fulfill your desires (as long as your larger motives are good ;)) and take each day as it comes because the answer really is 42.

Hummmm....lots of psychos go to church......lets see the chick that drowned her 5 kids...avid church go'er...the chick who shot her preacher husband....should I go on?????
