Your Ibanez SR405EQM Bass has passive PowerSpan Duel Coil humbuckers, its the 3-band EQ that's active. P-Basses are awesome.I like a lot of different basses. One of my favorite things to do is go to GC after work (it's a few blocks away), and play all the different basses through all the different amps. Fun fact: my GC has a great selection and a wonderful staff. They know me by name. I really like active humbucker basses, like my new Ibby SR405EQM, but man... Those Ps!!! I didn't get it at first. At all. I thought active humbucker basses and jazz basses outstripped Ps by a mile. I own several P/J basses, and ALL of them have the P pups soloed. So here's to being happily wrong!!!

Ohhhhh!!! Sorry. As I said, I'm a relative n00b. I just got the Ibby a couple of days ago. I'm pretty in love with it!!!

I think the exposed pole pieces are like The Dude's rug: they just bring the whole thing together!!! And the matching headstock was a selling point, as well...
I like the top one better, you can see that beautiful wood grain, Very Nice!
Man, P Basses really sound different if you swap capacitors.
Keep showing those Ps! Can't get enough of them honestly.
