Of all the bands I've ever heard, Placebo is one of them.

I've had an offer from a "Muse" tribute band....something to think about I guess.
I know a girl who likes them, so I talked another girl who used to listen to them in middle school to do a cover. The first girl played bass on it, but didn't actually play, which sort of goes with the thread.
Every single bass note in this song is a note played on bass by the first girl and recorded, she knows the song and can play it, but didn't actually play it here. It's not quite a "what is the sound of one hand clapping" riddle, though.

I auditioned for a Prodigy tribute band but they said I was too old and not talented enough.
In a double blind test the whole band got off better on placebo than metal, folk, country, rock or blues. Full steam ahead now that we know the demographic to aim for.
