My daughter gave me a gift card for a cool shoe store almost 2 years ago for my birthday. She also bought me a coffee maker I returned, Black and Decker, terrible coffee.
I couldn't find the gift card, usually keep things like that together. After a futile search I suspected it was in the box with the coffee maker I returned. I continued searching occasionally.
Fast forward to this Saturday. I remembered I was working on a Strat and had received some pickups I had ordered on the same day. I never installed them and put em in a drawer. Went to the drawer, emptied it's contents. At the bottom was my long lost gift card. Now I gotta figure out which style and color Vans I'll be wearing onstage next.
Good Luck Twofer, there's still hope.

Hi twofer :)

I'll update when I discover where, in a moment of dipstickery, I left it. :wacky:

:D I know what you are talking about!

Last year I was waiting for an important letter. The day it arrived, I could not find the key for the mailbox

I searched all the usual places and found nothing! So I took my drilling machine and started to kill the lock.

The old drill broke after a few seconds (not sharp enough :rage:).

The lock was badly damaged but still would not turn.:(

I could not find a new drill in the garage, but I remebered that I had bought a new set,

together with some lightbulbs. I keep my spare bulbs in a drawer in the kitchen.

Guess what I found in the drawer with the bulbs? The key! :banghead: (I didn' t find the drills)

Didn' t help, the lock was dead. I could not open it!

When I left the house to buy a new drill and a new lock,

the postman arrived with the letter and excused himself for being late that day. :crying::sour::mad:

The easiest way to find your pickup? Order a new one!

As soon as it arrives, gather everything you need to swap the pups.

Screwdriver, soldering iron, etc...

and your Geezers will surely show up as soon as you have finished the job! :D

greetings

Wise

btw: I found the set of drills in my car' s glove box. (one week later) ;)

edit: glove boxes are for some men, what handbags are for their wives. :D

It's more than likely sitting out in PLAIN VIEW... in fact it's probably in your field of view right now ( albeit, invisible - as your brain believes it's not there, and thus has done you a favor and filtered it out of your perception...)
That happened to me a couple weeks ago when I was looking for my box with my 09 Precision's E string tuning key and Hipshot Xtender parts. Looked for it for a couple hours, then spotted it right in plain view sitting on a shelf I don't usually keep bass parts. Dipstickery.

I had to cancel my Visa and Visa Debit last week. My wallet went missing and after an hour or so of frustration and panic I made the call.

Next day I go to take out the kitchen garbage - voila! There's my wallet on top. My only roommates have four legs and paws so I'm pretty sure it was my doing. How? No idea.

I feel for you!

Most cards have a freeze function for this reason.
Changing payment #'s can be really disruptive.
Only had to freeze a card once when I left one at a bakery rushing around for my buddy's kids bday.

After that, I prefer use contact payment off my phone.

I usually have to drive 30-40 minutes or more for work. A few weeks ago my wallet went missing. I looked everywhere.

Then it dawned on me. For whatever reason I had tucked it under my left thigh while driving that day. It must have fallen out of my work vehicle when I arrived to get started.

So, at 7 p.m. after a long day of work, I headed back over there. The good news it, hep, there it was. It was right there in the grass where I had parked with everything still in it. The bad news is I had to drive over an hour in my vehicle at night to recover it.

Man, I'm about to lose my mind... or what's left of it.

A few weeks ago I pulled the trigger on an EMG Geezer with wiring harness for my trusty old 80s MIJ P bass. I finally caved to all the good reviews around here. The TBer I bought it from shipped it promptly, packed it well, and sold me what he said he sold me. (Great transaction)

I received the box right before heading to the coast for a week. I was super excited to install it the other night but.... I can't FIND the thing! :banghead:

I had it. I remember sticking it in a cabinet kind of between our kitchen and breakfast nook. Part of me vaguely remembers maybe taking it to work with me on that Friday before we left so I could Google install tips on my lunch break.

My office stays locked. Nobody ever comes in my building anyway. I'm not worried about it being stolen.

I just misplaced the stupid thing!!!! I have turned my house upside down.... especially my jam room. I checked the office Friday and it didn't turn up.

*sigh*

Just venting. I'll update when I discover where, in a moment of dipstickery, I left it. :wacky:
Pray. Ask for the answer. The location is in your mind.

I feel your pain... I met Stan Lee, several years ago... had him sign the book below.

"To Spidey, my #1 fan... Stan Lee"

When the Stooges started becoming more mobile, I moved it... somewhere in the house.

Serious... I really looked for it. Can't find it anywhere.

What were we talking about?
