Well, they were very different critters.
The Bassman cab had two gray frame Jensens.
It sounded clear and full at low volumebut when you turned up to gig levels the low end got really weak but the mids and highs stayed nice and clear. The later 40" tall 212 Bassman cabs had much better low end.
The Showman cab had a surprisingly big tone for a cab of its size. Smooth lows and low mids with no apparent frequency bumps or dips.
I'd gladly use that rig today if I still had it. Although I'll admit that I'd rather have a quad 6L6GC Fender or Traynor head pushing it.
thats exactly the same kind of tone my Bassman 70 (square shaped cab) 2x15 got at gig levels greats mids and highs but very weak low end. I am looking at getting the Ashdown LB 30 to run with my Showman cab
