I Need a MM stingray 5 review ASAP!

I wouldn't consider a Stingray an "upgrade" to a Fender Jazz. Maybe in build quality but in sound the Stingray is MUCH different from a jazz. Stingrays are great sounding basses and they do have a nice growl in the low end but they don't pack as much low end power as a jazz, in my opinion. That may not be a bad thing for you, though. It still has plenty of low end but the jazz basses have more. Stingrays also cut through mixes differently than jazzes.

I would try it out, if possible, for a little while to see if that is the kind of sound you want.

The LaBellas are way thicker and stiffer.They have a lot more pure volume, and they are punchy as hell. While I agree with the above statement that a Jazz has more inherent low end due to the front pickup... I'd stack this setup up against it any day for punch and depth. Frankly, I'm shocked every time how big the sound is.

For $700 there should be no question. I defy anyone to pick up a bass as good as a stingray for $700. If you buy it and it's just not for you, you could probably sell it for $1000 without too much difficulty (assuming it's in good condition, of course).
