I Present the IdiotBox Effects's Blower Box

Its all good man, I never take offense if a friend comes in at a really low price, I expect it. If it is a total stranger so to speak that comes in at an insulting offer, that is when I get in "ah he** nah mode" haha. In all honestly on my end, I got a heck of a deal on the BDPG from someone on here as it is and I shouldve just kept my mouth shut on possibly wanting to sell it. Its one of those pedals that I got from a really good dude here on TB, its not being made anymore and on top of it, it is one of those pedals that I got rid of a long time ago and regretted it over time. I dont want that to happen again. Its not as easy as it used to be to get them. Plus, depending on my setup, I may still use it at some point. There is just something about that BDPG that is really cool.

It's funny because the BDPG is the one Fuzzrocious pedal I was never interested in, ever. I tried a bunch of their other stuff and completely fell out of love with them over time. Maybe the BDPG is the one I should have tried. Unfortunately, my board filled up with a bunch of other stuff over time. Maybe one day if I get a PT-Grande :)

The main thing that attracted me to the BDPG was the talk of everyone saying how much it makes your other dirt sound great! Kind of beefs it up I suppose. I figured If I could get a good deal(highway robbery lol) from Greg I would of liked to see how it interacted with my dirt.

I am also interested in the Big Bottom pedal by Tym. Works as an effects loop for your dirt pedals and allows you to keep just the clean lows to mix back in. With a vey nice blender you wouldn't need this but for someone like me who uses mainly dirt for everything it's pretty tempting.

I got into fuzzrocious because at one point before the Blower box came out, they made "the best rat pedal" "the best muff clone" according to many threads and posts in TB. I still wish them the best because Ryan is a talented guy and definitely one of the good guys in the boutique hipster pedal market. That being said there are so many wonderful pedals out there that someone will always be the flavor of the month and making something better than what someone else made.

I am also sure at one point we may look back and regret ditching many pedals to buy the newest and baddest just to realize we liked what we had all along. That's why some of these vintage pedals fetch so much now.

Yeah, I know, that is also what has me wondering. Also, the pedal I ended up liking the most from Fuzzrocious was also the one I did not really want, the Rat King. I was never interested in the Rat King, I wanted the OSD/GS/DD. I got an ok deal on the RK and decided to go for it. In the end, out of all those, the RK ended up being my favourite. However, I never liked how I was losing so much low end with the RK. The BB completely preserves it.

And, as much as I like my WP Blender, I am using it more to keep levels sane and mixing non dirts. Over the last year, I have eliminated all the dirt pedals I had that completely took away the low end. While I will mix different dirts together, I will not mix clean with dirt anymore unless I am also mixing a chorus or something like that. I really like blending but would rather not have to do it to fix a bad pedal.

I went kookoo for fuzzrocious when I first heard of/got into them. I, within a moment or two, fell right out of love with the pedals. I think what Ryan is doing is very commendable in today's pedal market. It's super hard for a guy to make a name for himself. And he did it. All while keeping it under his own homes roof. I just found other avenues to go down that suited my needs much better.

The price difference is not really the issue though. Here's why:

To ship a package to USA:
Seller pays with paypal.
Click the 'print label' button.
Stick in mailbox.
Enjoy rest of day.

To ship a package outside of the USA:
Seller pays with paypal.
Take time off of work to travel to post office.
Stand in line for 15 minutes.
Obtain customs forms.
Spend 5 minutes filling out customs forms.
Stand in line for 15 minutes.
Correct the mistakes pointed out by postal clerk.
Wait 5 minutes while postal clerk enters information.
Beat postal clerk over the head.
Do jail time.
Lose job, family.
Sell gear to survive, probably to someone in Canada.
Start over at step 1.

:)

And I dare you to try to figure out how to translate a Hong Kong shipping address to a customs form. It was a very humbling experience for me and my Co worker one lunch break.

Yay...new stuff. Both arrived on the same day.

I hear you on that too. I ord a desoldering gun from China. It took like 2 weeks to get here. But it was only like $10 shipped. I can deal.

Yeah, I have a desoldering pump, it is usually enough. I like those nice guns though, with the built-in pump and stuff.

What I needed was a good iron. I have gone for far too long with a crappy cheapo iron because I have always hated soldering. I figured the BlowerBox deserved better from me :)
