I Present the IdiotBox Effects's Blower Box

Yes, it comes in a smaller box now, with no glowing eyes.
Which to me is a BIG plus!
I still don't particularly like the graphics on this pedal With those glowing eyes gone, which I thought looked absolutely terrible, I may just get one:)
All I'd like to see now is for the sockets to be positioned at the head of the pedal( as is the case on ethe Rat pedal and others)

Where exactly is Atarimatt based?

I have had a 50/50 experience with the TB flavor of the month pedal...but I am a huge Rat lover, the Rat Tail and Iron Pig have only been incredible to me, so I will bite on this one. I dig the smaller enclosure too, without the glowing eyes. I hope it lives up to the hype!
Coming from a Rat King I was leery to jump on this pedal right away even when it was only $119. It has been well over a month and it is still being praised so when a JohnK modded one turned up for sale I jumped on it. I still haven't had a chance to hook it up and shake my walls with it yet but I definitely plan on reporting back when I do! I really don't have a doubt that I will love it. I have already put my RK up for sale. The true test will be Tuesday at practice. I will give my impressions after that.

Man, you guys threw Ry under the bus in no time flat! It doesn't sound like a "Rat" to me in demos, so is the comparison really even fair?
I'm just sayin'.

Who threw him under the bus? Yes many people said they like the Blower Box better compared to their Rat pedals but I don't recall anyone saying anything negative. From what I understood Mike from Idiotbox said it was a rat-type distortion.

All I'm saying is this:

I once knew a Florida bassist who used a rather unorthodox rig. He ran a Marshall JCM rackmount pre into a Crown power amp. It was a REALLY cool tone that I hadn't heard since...until the Blower Box demos, that is.

The moral of the story: With that in mind, is it really fair to keep hammering away at "how badly it smokes the Rat King/Tail?" Devil's Advocate here...take it as you will.

I haven't compared them. I will do so this weekend. If I like it and it doesn't have the same mojo as my RK I will keep them both. I figured it was worth it to me to give the BB a run for my money in hopes to clear up enough space for another fuzz pedal. I am a fuzz guy over a rat guy any day of the week. Yes I have posted my RK for sale but I will only unload it if the price is right and this BB does what I hope it does. I will find out soon enough!

They're different sounds. Some of us Rat Owners (I LOVED my Rat Tail!) were looking for a sound and this happened to do certain things better than the Rat Tail. It does other things not as great. Depends what you're looking for, and there's different pedals for different people.

This is why the "What's the best Overdrive/Fuzz/Phaser/etc" topics are pointless. Everything is contingent upon what else you're using in the mix, even then, it still depends how it sounds in the actual band mix.

I liked the Pharoah the least of muff based fuzzes I had. Not bonding much with my Bluebeard these days just using it for guitar since it farts out on faster lines or when I dig in too much. Does the Stache fart out? I know it seems pretty common with some muff based fuzzes on bass, my Swollen Pickle did that too. My Fender Sub-Lime doesn't though nor did the Skullytone Russian Spy or the Pickle Pie I had.

Maybe muff fuzzes aren't your thing. I think I like that "farty" sound you may be referring too. Possibly look into more of a b:assmaster or super fuzz type circuit.
It could be, I do love muff on guitar though. Yeah I have a Ron Swanson Super Fuzz which is a blast. It feels like the fuzz can't handle the input signal or something but maybe that is the muff sound on bass.

First, the Fuzzrocious stuff is every bit as good as the Blower Box--different sounds but just as nice. Doubt I will ever part with my Grey Stache. Second, I think the new, smaller Blower Box looks good, but I do prefer the lit eyes of the older model. And, on my board, a 2.5" wide pedal with a couple George Ls sticking out of the sides really isn't any smaller or neater than a 3.7" wide pedal with top-jacks.
