Interesting. I really should order a Cat Tail, as I've never tried one.

Def try one if you get the chance. Its a very unique and raunch filled pedal. Mine has come off in lieu of a few others over the last couple years but the RT always seems to go back on. There is something really special about that pedal. It grinds like no other in a live mix. There is a high mid clank and presence that I haven't heard that much out of any other pedal I've played.

The bass is capable of dialing massive low end where as the low end retention with the RK is just alright. Plus the size of the BB wins out. And it looks a lot cooler ;) plus again, I simply think it sounds better. There's an inherent tone to the BB that's not in the RK, it has a great rat characteristic yet it has it's own voice combined. I'd choose the BB over the RK any day of the week.

Crazy how times and things change. I now use a rat tail as my main rat and the BB is on my second board at home. Not knockin the BB, I still have it (and that says a lot for me haha) and I still love it. It's still one of my fav pedals. But the RT suites the sound I'm going for more these days. But the BB still gets used. I was swapping them out back and forth for a long time. I couldnt decide which I liked more. I like them equally as much these days. But the RT just suites my tastes better these days.

After all these years I finally got a blower box. It's on my 3rd (dirt I love but isn't being used on my band board) board.

I know can't believe this thread is still going and I just grabbed a Bookworm Effects BigWig Bass Driver I love this pedal
