cough coughpst.. I have a blower box waiting for me in my mailbox...
I might have to leave work early![]()
Try an Boss LS2 to clean blend. I havn't tried this but need to as there were similar issues found on my part. Interesting part is I'm using the Landphil as primary and it's cutting a bit better. Still have my V1 BB so one day I will have the time to get a LS2 and try with clean blend.Im having some troubles with my BB. It sounds great on its own, but with a band it disappears in the mix. Been fideling and tweaking but nothing seems to work. Almost like there is not enough volume in it. It is freaking loud, but still.
cough cough

.....I love my RT just as much as my BB these days and I am using the RT a hella lot more than the BB. Not to say it's better, they are just different and I use them for different things. I almost don't want to knock the BB off because it's been with me so long no matter what. Plus I still love the way it sounds. There is no other pedal that sounds like it. And I dig that uniqueness. I may just have to keep a spot warm for it anyway.Treble and Bass 12 o'clock = no cut, no boost, flat mids?
Boosted treble and bass = scooped mids
Cut treble and bass = bossted mids?
I don't know if the BB has baxandall EQ controls or not, but right now I'm using it as more of an aggressive light OD, with my Carcosa serving as my crazy fuzz sound.
Here's a pretty cool bass distortion based on the RAT. The normal filter section on a RAT is replaced with a passive baxandall network. It was traced by FSB member p.eat and the schematic I based this layout from was drawn by @johnk_10 .
Dudes! Did y'all see that Idiotbox has EVERYTHING on sale for $99?!?!! Daaaaannnngg!
I can compare it to the rat king by fuzzrocious. I like the BB better. It's cleaner and has a more tweakable EQ. The bass is capable of dialing massive low end where as the low end retention with the RK is just alright. Plus the size of the BB wins out. And it looks a lot coolerplus again, I simply think it sounds better. There's an inherent tone to the BB that's not in the RK, it has a great rat characteristic yet it has it's own voice combined. I'd choose the BB over the RK any day of the week.
I still love (and use) the Blower Box -- fantastic pedal!
Looking forward to trying the soon-to-be-released Idiotbox "Blackout," described as a "double muff" wired in parallel: Blackout
